Matheson suggested two names for the Oilers 32nd last night.

Benson and this guy.

Maybe he's still more connected than some are thinking.

He was ranked 38 on Bob McKenzie's list.

The potential is really high here. I would have gone a different direction, but can't complain.

This guy was a first rounder in some lists and mocks.

Really like this pick.

He's 6'6", mobile and smart. Shutdown defenseman potential, but has the skill to actually play.

And he's not just a huge guy who bullied his way through juniors. He's still skinny and filling out, and has room to add mass in the coming years. Big potential here.

Not the guy I wanted, and he's yet another leftie, but Chia hasn't given us any reason to doubt him

Love the frame and the wheels. Hope some offence comes along. More additions to the leftorium though. Sure glad the Oilers scouts could find this guy but not Parayko in their back yard.

A lot of people had him in the first round this year. Not bad.

I'm not sure he has the same upside as the other guys but you never know. It doesn't hurt to have size on the back end.

Word was we were looking at this guy at #32 as well so to get both him and Benson is great. Love his size and potential, I'm higher on him than I am Stanley.

People shouldn't complain that he's a lefty...this is not a player who's here to play in our lineup right now.

I haven't seen him play but based on scouting reports, it wouldn't shock me if he ended up being better than Logan Stanley who was drafted in the first round.

I like the idea off gambling on a big defenceman in the third.

Big but not overly physical. Good skater and only an average shot.
