Alexander True and Ryan Gropp scored 1:20 apart late in the second and Seattle took Game 5 5-3. True, with another goal, Scott Eansor and Sami Moilanen got the other T-Birds goals while Calvin Thurkauf, Nick Merkley and Dillon Dube notched goals for Kelowna. Carl Stankowski stood tall once again with his 37 save performance while Michael Herringer got burned again, with only 19 saves on 24 shots. Special teams got a workout for both teams as Seattle was 3 for 8 and Kelowna 3 for 11 on the PP.

Austin Strand, Alexander True and Mathew Barzal scored 2nd period goals to put Seattle into the WHL final with 1 3-1 victory over Kelowna. Nolan Foote had given the Rockets a 1-0 lead in the first. Carl Stankowski made 17 saves in the win while Michael Herringer stopped 19 of 22 shots. Keegan Kolesar was thrown out of the game with a checking from behind major in the first, so we'll have to see if there's a suspension or not.

Regina overcame an early 3-0 deficit to knock off Lethbridge 7-4 and advance to the WHL final. Jeff de Wit's goal at 8:41 of the third snapped a 4-4 tie. Robbie Holmes, Josh Mahura, Filip Ahl, Nick Henry, Austin Wagner and Wyatt Sloboshan got the other Pat goals. Egor Babenko, Jordy Bellerive, Ryan Vandervlis and Giordio Estephan got the Hurricane markers. Tylor Wong had 2 penalty shot chances on the same play but both were stopped by Tyler Brown, who stopped 24 of 28 shots. Stuart Skinner made 38 saves in the loss.

The reason why Wong had 2 attempts: "With goaltender Stuart Skinner at the bench for the extra attacker and the Hurricanes buzzing the Pats net in the final 60 seconds of regulation, defenceman Connor Hobbs knocked the net off its moorings, resulting in a penalty shot for Lethbridge. Captain Tyler Wong took the opportunity and on the attempt, goaltender Tyler Brown then knocked the net off its pegs in an effort to stop Wong, but before the Hurricanes captain could complete his attempt. After a brief conversation, the officials allow Wong a second opportunity on the penalty shot. This time around, Wong snapped a quick shot that Brown was able to redirect off the tip of his glove and over the cage."

Man you have to feel bad for Bear, team makes the WHL final for the 2nd year in a row and he (most likely) can't play. His absence could very well be the difference in that series, as he is Seattle's best Dman by far imo.

Lol not really feel bad or not really think he's clearly the best Dman on that team. The first is your own opinion so whatever but I'd really like to know who you think is as good or close to him on his own team.

Lagesson to SHL and Nemo to FEL, for me these are really good things. Both were on pretty bad teams (Lagessons team was garbage), both leagues are better than ECHL and probably at AHL level. It allows us to give ice time to other prospects in AHL while also having them develop in pro

Pretty long shot either makes it to NHL but to me this is our best shot and getting NHL players out of them, and sooner rather than later

Agreed. Great news.

Solid place for their development and it doesn't create a logjam in Bako.

Regarding Lagesson, You don't have a bidding war amongst SHL teams for the services of a longshot NHL prospect. I'd say his odds are probably less than 50/50 but that's far from a longshot.

Was there a bidding war or did he just sign with a home town team?
