Agreed. Unless one of those two falls, I'd trade back and gamble with an extra pick. Heck, they'd probably be able to trade back twice without much difference. Or maybe just maybe Holland finally shocks us all and trades up for Werenski.

Exactly. EASports has really screwed people's view of the NHL Draft. Hell, Doug McLean upon drafting Zherdov years ago called him the best player in that 03' draft. Obviously he was the biggest bust, and look at all the teams that passed on the smaller Parise. A guy who just dominated in the World Juniors.

After Eichel and McDavid I honestly believe the best pick up front is Konecny. If he were 6'2", he'd be going in the top 5 for sure. Strome has skating issues for god sake.

It really comes down to how you think a player will develop as an organization. Remember, we're talking about 17-18 year old kids here. Especially the D crop every year. You just don't know. There's mock drafts out there having a guy picked at 13 who will probably fall into the 2nd round but the team at 12 thought long and hard about him.

It's more of a crapshoot than any other draft. Even baseball. Plus, the bigger the player, the more time it usually takes him to evolve. Especially D...

Let's use the GDT that was just put up for the rest of today's discussion, as many of you will want to follow along with each pick tonight.
