Until no Spezza or Latendresse :

Michalek-Turris-Alfredsson
Zibanejad-Da Costa-Silfverberg
Greening-Smith-Neil
Daugavins-O'Brien-Condra

Best lines we could come up with IMO

Agree
But i'd swap zib and michalek. Zib and alfie really work well together. Instant chemistry happened

Ok but we really have to get Michalek going... We can't afford to lose both Spezza (84 pts) and Michalek (60 pts) production... I think playing with Turris and Alfie is the best way to get Milan going.

We have time to develop Zibanejad and Silfverberg, I don't like the idea of putting the 1st line production pressure on their backs already.

I'm glad Michalek-Turris-Alfredsson is being abandoned. The worst part of that line is that Michalek becomes the third guy and doesn't touch the puck often. Turris and Alfie like to slow the game down and that doesn't lend well to Michalek's game. Mac's gotta get him in a situation where he's getting more touches and can look to push the puck up the ice on the rush.

I'm not overly worried about Michalek though. He's shown to be a very streaky player and I feel as if he's due for a bit of a hot streak. I'd like to see him play with DaCosta

I think the forward lines need to be shuffled a bit. Da Costa has been, in my opinion, our best forward. The talent there is incredible.

Michalek - Turris - Alfredsson
Zibanejad - Da Costa - Silfverberg
Greening - Smith - Neil
Daugavins - O'Brien - Condra

Methot - Wierchioch
Lundin - Gonchar
Phillips - Benoit

Anderson
Bishop

Give Da Costa a chance to shine. :)

I would try and keep these duos together
Dacosta-Silfverberg
Zibanejad-Alfredsson
Turris-Condra

I'd also put dd and grant in and take out daugy, as unlikely as that is

who do you guys see replacing Karlsson on the PP?

Thanks

tough loss and hope he comes back at full health, definitely a special player and a loss for all hockey fans. if you get a high pick in this draft because of it your core will be scary

What do you guys think will be the line-ups next year, with a fully healthy roster. Does Da Costa stay up and do some other prospects take the place of Greening, Condra and Smith?

There won't be one guy, but the biggest beneficiary will be Wiercioch. His minutes are about to go way up and he should see a lot of PP time. Phillips and Benoit will also get more time and I expect DaCosta will see some time on the point as well like he did in Bingo.

Methot, Wiercioch, Lundin and Gonchar all have a history of injuries too, it could get so much worse

It's not really fair to label Wiercioch as injury prone. He had a knee problem in college one season but outside of that his only major injury was a freak accident. I'm sure people won't label Karlsson as injury prone after what happened last night.

That line up is brutal.

Not really, it's the same line-up that would have made the playoffs quite easily if we had Karlsson, Spezza and Cowen healthy. No team would be able to replace players of that caliber (and Cowen was about to breakout even more)

If anything, it's the defense that is particulary affected, missing 2/3 best D-men, specifically the best in the world

Forward group is affected too but only Spezza is missing... However huge impact as his presence automatically makes everyone better (attracts the "game plan" on him)

Best we could come up with when Regin and Latendresse are back

Zibanejad - Turris - Alfredsson
Michalek - Da Costa - Silfverberg
Latendresse - Regin - Neil
Smith - O'Brien - Condra
Greening, Daugavins

Methot - Gonchar
Lundin - Wiercioch
Phillips - Benoit
Borowiecki, Gryba

Anderson
Bishop

Depht is there, we're just missing our Elite talent. Looks like a rebuilding team without Spezza, Karlsson and Cowen, which is what we were but we had several impact players that made us forget about that quickly

Xspyrit has it pretty good there and regin and lats are expected back next week. It's not so bad.
Hard to find positives here but this might be one...
players cannot rely on karlsson to carry the puck up all the time, more players will be involved with the puck now and we may see more of a team effort. Could be beneficial to the young guys to put it on themselves a little more and take control. I actually believe this will be good for their development, so when karl does get back next yr we may be even better (experienced)than if this didn't happen. Assuming ek can get back to his level.

It's an ugly roster anyway you spin it. The young guys will get a lot of minutes. Depth guys are a dime a dozen and it is the elite players that make or a break a team and in this case it has broken us.

So be it,

This weekend?

Zibanejad - Turris - Alfredsson
Greening - Da Costa - Silfverberg
Daugavins - Smith - Neil
??? - O'Brien - Condra

When Michalek gets back switch him and Greening, and then put Greening with Smith and Daug with O'Brien.

Pick 2

we had all three before the lockout

we have to try to get michalek going (when he gets back)

zibby - turris - alfie
michalek - da costa - condra
greening - smith - neil
k-daug - o'brien - silf

hard to put silf on that line, but at least he won't be playing against top defense units. michalek gets two guys with vision that can get him the puck. k-daug has skills, but his puck handling has been awful. if he manages to settle that puck, he has two guys that can shoot there for him.
