I know, tormentor by some reason is not a fan of Landeskog, but still only ¹20? Too low.

He's born in Leksand, Sweden. By searching on Eliteprospects I find four Finnish players and six Swedish players with the last name Rask, so I don't think he necessarily has to have any connections to Finland.

Thank you. Well sounds like his dad is from Finland then. Have you ever seen him play?

Musil was born and raised in Edmonton. His family moved to Delta, BC about 1 or 2 years ago b/c he wants to live close to Vancouver where he currently plays for the Giants.

Musil played for Czech Republic in the U-18 World Championships last year. So, I believe he will not play for Canada despite he grew up in Canada.

Raised in Edmonton as a kid but moved to Czech republic before his teens. He played for Dukla Jihlava. He played in U-20 juniors two years ago already in the Czech league and last year played 14 games for the Czech 1st league with men (one step bellow the extra league). You can be guranteed that he will always play for Czech republic as he has. His dad is former NHL dman Frantisek Musil who is now the trainer/scout for the Czech junior team. His uncle is Bobby Holik. His grandfather is Jaroslav Holik who is a Czech hockey legend and also a former coach of their international teams, same with his grandfathers brother who also coached and was a star.

I watch him all the time and imo he is with out a doubt the number two guy for this draft right now and probably will remain so when all is said and done. He is simply amazing and at 16 is the best dman on the Giants. He plays crap loads of minuits, has a plus minus rating that is a couple times higher then the next guy on the team and has the skill to put up huge points once he gets the go ahead. If you watch him play you will understand, he make almost no mistakes and his positioning is imo at a NHL level already.

If you are saying that he is the #2 D-man for the draft, then great.

Are you sure he is the best D-man on the Giants, because Connauton is pretty good too.

I'm starting to get pretty excited about this Couturier kid...looks like he might be the next 'big thing' in Canada (in terms of undrafted players).

No im saying he is the number 2 player in the draft right now imo.

He is allot better then Connauton. He gets more icetime, he gets put in more key situations, the only thing Connauton is better at right now is skating(and Musil isnt horrible him self), and reckless offensive play. Connauton is a minus player who makes a huge amount of mistakes and is always out of position.

In my mind it isnt even close and I go see most of the games.

Connauton -5 Musil +19 (no one on the team is close)

and thats with Connauton eating up minuits on the powerplay, where most of his points come from. While Musil shuts down the top lines, at 16.

An yes its Musil who is always on the opening line up. And yes he is fully capable of putting up points, on Saturday when the Giants were down in the 3rd he jumped a bit more in to the play and showed tremendous skill, just didnt go all the way, that will change as he will get more pp time and his role gets biger.

Contrary to popular to belief on HF, there are a few American hockey players that don't play for the NTDP.

Here's a couple Minnesotan kids that will be in the draft discussion next year:

Andy Welinski-Duluth East
Dan Molenaar-Eden Prairie
Adam Wilcox-South St. Paul
Derek Frawley-Minnetonka
JD Cotroneo-Hill-Murray
Ryan Jaremko-Elk River

Girard shoudn't be in thhe top 150 chenevert donnelly abefore him easly in LHJMQ it is easy to look great in the m-17 because they play with full faces soo little palyer or player taht are more scared . racine in the lhjmq one of the rookie that have the most hits among all rookie and i place already on a stady based and he is a shoutdown defensemen, phillipe Hudon is also a great potiental on a good 2nd rounder with a good size speed and a great shott. yannick Veilleux as a good size and can develop into a great player before lavoie 2nd overall and 2009 lhjmq draft last year...

you had to quote the OP's entire list to post that nonsense?

this is why so few people put out lists anymore, because of people like this. :shakehead

Thank you. Well sounds like his dad is from Finland then. Have you ever seen him play?

Thats one headless conclusion. 'Rask' is a swedish last name and theres no reason at all to suspect finnish descent of Victor Rask. Swedish last names are common in Finland for various historical reasons.

here is a few more Americans to keep an eye on Tormentor....

not sure where they would sit at this point, but I am sure all should be somewhere in the top 150:

Cason Hohman
Shane Prince
Alex Lepkowski
Dillon Donnelly

I really like Shane Prince as I think he will continue to grow and be a nice offensive weapon for the Kitchener Rangers next year.

Lepkowski doesn't give you much offensively, but he has great size, can shut down the opponents, but as usual needs to work on his skating and outlet passes imo.

Hohman has all the tools to be very good, but obviously needs to continue to grow. I can see Grimaldi getting away with a lack of size, but Hohman doesn't play that same no fear 'Gionta" style that Grimaldi does. He still should be in the top 100.

Dillon Donnelly hasnt done a lot for Moncton in the Quebec league, but he has solid size and I feel could move up the draft list some come next year.

I really don't want to start a border war here, but isn't Sean Couturier American? I know he was born in the states and I believe spent a good amount of time here. I know he has duel citizenship, but do we know for what country he considers himself for? He is turning into a top prospect, and I am sure the US would love to bring him in under their flag, since he was born in Arizona. Just curious.

He was born in the USA but did play for Canada at the Ivan Hlinka although he hasn't made his decision in an IIHF sanctioned event. I think he will suit up for Canada

He was born in Arizona but hasn't he been exclusively raised in Canada?

Either way, I'm pretty sure he considers himself Canadian and will play for Canada going forward, as he has previously.

IMO for the QMJHL you have Nathan Beaulieu a little bit too high...IMO a late 2nd round pick not a first round talent IMO...JF Leblanc is a better pro prospect than Archembault, Leblanc by this time next year is bigger, stronger, and almost just as skilled and IMO will be a 1st round potential next year over Archambault, Also Yannick Veilluex , Jonathan Racine and JF Plante are three guys to watch out for next year as well...either of them will probably be 1st round talents but i would not run out a 2nd round or 3rd looks at these two.

Also Mitch Topping 2nd round? I don't know but when i saw the guy I thought he was pretty darn good, have not seen him play in a bit, so maybe he regressed in development?????

Im also going to go ahead and say I like Brandon Saad more than I like Seth Ambroz as well, I think Saad has alot more potential and talent.
