The last time I saw a visiting player skate for the three stars was Marty in Montreal for 551. I distinctly remember Zajac being 2nd star and also skating out.

The 3rd star was a Habs player who appeared in his 1000th career game and the poor dude had his milestone moment completely overshadowed by Marty.

I was there, and it was insane

Marty has went out there a couple times in Montreal.

Even in his last game played there. Our feed cut off and wouldn't show it though.

He was the first star of the game and came out because there was speculation that it would be his last game ever played there. And it turned out to be his last.

Camm might have told Cory something like I'll go out there if you do.

Got to beat Torts Wed night.

I had so much fun watching the Blow Jackets torpedo against the Sharks tonight. 3 goals allowed in a matter of minutes to lose 5-4 after leading 4-2. I can't even remember if the Sharks scored an empty netter or not, I think they did. So it was a 6-4 loss.

We have to be sharp if we want to beat them though, they are the 2017 Stanley Cup Champions after all.

I would have even had fun watching the Hurricanes come back and beat them like that tonight. I hate that team so much, and all their hype and ''I think they'll win the Metro Division this year'' and ''Eastern Conference Finals winner for sure'' ******** predictions.

What did you all think of Gelinas tonight?

Made a few good first-passes, and did his usual shot thing. The one giveaway on the PP in his own zone was a bit iffy, but i thought he played pretty well i thought, considering he was sitting again for the last whatever 7 games.

We've seen this before though. He'll come back after being scratched and look good, then 5-6 games later he'll look like a trainwreck again.

Schneider is a monster when he's not playing the puck. Another good game by Merrill, too. Palmieri has been so good.

I think we did okay without Schlemko and Tlusty.

Still very undisciplined... however, our PK has been one of the best in the business.

Andy Greene had yet another great outing tonight - he is among the most consistent defenders in the NHL. A true gem.

In due time, he may become the 4th NJD defenseman to get his number retired.

And on a team that has always taken pride in its defense, that would certainly be some feat.

Greene's longevity or lack of longevity to his career might hurt him. He didn't come into the league full time until age 25 and wasn't really the number 1 here until about 28 or 29 years old. And 2 of the numbers retired were hall of famers.

The good thing about that is that Greene is really only about 30 years old as far as wear and tear goes, rather than the 33 he is in real years.

So I think he's got 5 pretty good to decent/above average years left in him. Crazy to think he's over only defender over the age of 28, and only long term guy over 24 years old.

He needs to be the captain of one or more cup teams to have a chance at that and somehow be Stevens or Neids equal at minimum at something. I love Andy but that's a crazy high bar.

If we ever have a ring of honor thing ya he will be in there but the rafters is going to be near impossible now with Marty up there now and even harder for defense because of who has played here before.

Forwards have a chance if they can catch Patty's team records which a star forward who is a career devil will do.

We have top 10 special teams on both sides through 20 games.

Even when our PK was stinking up the joint early on, it was usually something different happening, rather than the same thing like Greene on the wrong side last year.

Nasreddine (I think he runs the PK?) has done a good job of working it out. It also helps when you get goaltending on the PK like we got tonight particularly.

Even the last few PK goals we got scored on probably shouldn't have even happened and were pretty bad breaks or two man advantages.

A full 2 minute 5 on 3 against Chicago, which we killed off the first minute and forty of.
The one in Edmonton probably should have been whistled, Kinkaid had it covered and they didn't feel like blowing it.

And then tonight it was a 6 on 4, not to mention that we killed off about 6 or 7 prior.

My only real complaint with Shero so far is keeping that moron Foligno employed in a scouting role. Would have rather have kept Tommy Albelin in that role. I'm kind of bummed Lemaire doesn't work for us anymore, but Foligno still does. And I really don't care about losing Lemaire honestly, I just can't stand that POS Foligno.

Should have made him a janitor at the rock if they didn't wanna pay him to sit home. I'm gonna assume he was still under contract for this season anyway. Hopefully it expires after this year.

All in all, I'm just thankful that he's not coaching our PK right now.

Also the Edmonton one was like the 6th kill of the night too.

Cory is doing his job but the PKers are stepping up too. They have been more aggressive as well. Lot more short handed attempts then in the beginning of the year.

Also seeing we are having longer periods of just controlling the puck during the kill. Tonight it happened where we gained their zone and was able to pass back to our D and eat like 20 seconds without any effort.

Greene would have to be a hall of famer to get up there. Dano is up there for sentimental reasons. Which I've stated that I have no problem with at all, despite some people thinking I'm claiming he's undeserving because of that, which I'm not.

Elias will be the last number retirement for a while IMO. I'm not even sure if Elias gets his number retired the season after he retires, I could really see them waiting 2 or 3 years after he retires to put his number up there.

Safe bet. There's nobody else left from our "dynasty".

If we could merge Brian and Stephen Gionta into one person, then their Devils tenure would probably get in, but other than that there probably isn't another induction before 2020.

Parise, Kovalchuk, Gomez, Gio, they all had their shot, and chose to leave.

Didn't get to watch the game but how did Matteau and Gelinas look? I'm assuming Oneill and Gionta were the typical trash that we are accustomed to seeing. I looked at the box score, JJ taking 3 minors that are typically associated with laziness, were they necessary penalties?

I Think Matteau looked good in the few minutes he did get? Also had the breakaway and drew a penalty. Good in our zone.

Imagine when we get Elias, Kennedy and if matteau can keep it up. We need some new blood in the lineup.
Gelinas wasn't bad either..!

No. Gelinas wasn't bad but after several games of being not-bad, he will more than likely revert to having us pull our hair out again.

That's what he is probably. 1-2 average games 3-4 bad games and then out of the lineup for 5-6 games. Looking forward to seeing Stefan again.. I think he were good.
