Hopefully he just does it again later in the gameHa. Not officially.
I wouldn't doubt it.Hopefully he just does it again later in the game
The last thing the nhl needs is more judgement calls from officiating. There needs to be an ability for the refs for some discretion that allows the refs to determine that the offsides had no bearing on the goal. The spirit of the challenge is not to prevent goals like this.

And refs don’t deal with offsides

There needs to be a requirement that the goal be on the rush, if nothing else. The last thing the nhl needs is more judgement calls from officiating.

The spirit of the challenge is to prevent any goal that wouldn't have happened if the correct call was made. Sucks when it takes away flashy ones though. There needs to be an ability for the refs for some discretion that allows the refs to determine that the offsides had no bearing on the goal. Offsides should be offsides.Sorry, linesman. If you don't agree that a goal scored like one minute after the offsides occurs should count, then I think you're just on an island.

Offsides should be offsides.
Is 2 feet offsides cool? The spirit of the challenge is to prevent that like one Duchene goal where he was 3 feet offsides. It's not about preventing flashy ones, and human error takes place in any sport.
And a strike should be a strike in baseball.
Is 2 feet offsides cool?
Or, wild thought here, maybe players shouldn't go offsideThere needs to be an ability for the refs for some discretion that allows the refs to determine that the offsides had no bearing on the goal. The spirit of the challenge is not to prevent goals like this.
I disagree. There is a blue line for a reason. You cant make a grey area for the linesman to determine otherwise. Thats a can of worms that would not be good to open. There needs to be an ability for the refs for some discretion that allows the refs to determine that the offsides had no bearing on the goal.
