The irony of bringing up the Pacioretty incident while highlighting Chara not getting favourable attention is strong.
Cmon man.

I don’t know how old you are but you can’t judge today’s rule enforcement to yesteryear.

What he did then wasn’t even a penalty.

What Scott Stevens used to do was marketed by the league.

They used to have bench clearing brawls. He’ll they used to have fights during warmups (highly entertaining!)

Different times. Different rules. I’d say he’s always played within them. If anything I’d say his opponents have been lucky he hasn’t tried hurting more of them

FWIW, a quick check of old 1950s Parkhurst hockey cards (which were the only ones being produced at the time) shows them moving from "minutes in penalties" to "PIM" in 1955. My guess is that newspapers and everyone else would have made the change at about the same time.

Byfuglien does well in this stat, too.
Ya thought of him too.

Maybe I’m getting older. But if a big guy runs over a small guy my first thought isn’t man that’s a penalty.

It’s usually wtf was the little guy thinking!?!

Kids these days. Keep yer head up dumb dumbs.

Should’ve been two.

Stripes put him in the box once because Stone? tripped himself into the boards.

Another because he got angry and was scaring people. Chara can still smash when angry. Had a juice box. Nice little rest. Calmed down after that.

Still a bs call

Any call against the Bruins is a BS call to you guys, as bad as Habs fans with that.

Seriously?

If I could find the clip of it I would. But I still remember the game after he hurt Paciorrety he got a penalty for boarding a guy from damn near the middle of the ice.

Every veteran gets a little leeway from the stripes after a while. But he leads the decade for being stronger than the other guy penalties and it’s not even close

I can't count the number of times he has gotten penalized just for being stronger than the other guy.

Those two turd burgers calling the game last night bet the over on penalties. Hope they cashed in. And that they stepped in poop when they got out of their cars.

As for calls against, every fan base bitches. Watch enough games through the years you’ll notice the stripes never get a standing ovation in any rink.
