Thanks for making a big list. Haven't heard most of those so I'm sure I'll listen couple of them.

Thanks! Looking forward to see your list. I'm quite positive that you have a great list as well.

1. OK Computer - Radiohead
...
10. Deja Entendu - Brand New

Never really liked OK Computer, I find it as a fairly mediocre album. But I can see why people like it. I haven't heard Kid A so maybe I should listen that. Moving Pictures is an excellent choice. In the Aeroplane Over the Sea is an album that I've wanted to listen for a long time but for a reason or another I haven't. Probably need to fix that soon.

You should give In the Aeroplane Over the Sea a listen, just an overall fantastic album. Jeff Mangum is a musical genius

1. Holy Diver - Dio
...
25. Mob Rules - Black Sabbath

How about Ozzy-era Black Sabbath? To be honest I'd take Master Of Reality and Black Sabbath over any Black Sabbath albums, the third best being The Eternal Idol. Also very surprised with Dynasty but I respect your opinion. What do you think about Purple's Burn? My favorite DP album, full of excellent songs and you know, that Coverdale dude. A bit surprised that you don't have Dio's The Last In Line there as well. But anyway, I've heard almost every album from there and the only mediocre/bad one is Dynasty, so a good list.

1. Arcade Fire - The Suburbs
...
10. Sunset Rubdown - Dragonslayer

I think I've heard two albums from your list so really can't say anything else that I need to listen some of those albums.

I wait until Teemu finishes his list before saying anything but looking solid so far.

Are you a big Lord Of The Rings fan? I am wondering why you chose Blind Guardian as your top album.

I love the album, but I was just curious.

Well, I honestly think it's musically the second best album after Unquestionable Presence but yes, I'm a big fan of Tolkien's books and the only reason for listening to it originally was the lyrics. And they're perfect, sums pretty much up The War Of The Jewels perfectly. Hansi Kürsch is definitely my favorite singer (if you count death metal growling as singing - I do - then Martin van Drunen is but oh well).

Hansi is a really good singer. Became better later on. On the album Follow The Blind, he doesn't have as much range. Didn't he play the guitar at the same time? Probably has something to do with it, like Kai Hansen.

I did a rock list a couple of years ago for a similar thread, and looking back at it now, after the first five or so, it seems pretty arbitrary. So this time around, I'm go to do an "all-comes" top 25--jazz, rock, classical, worldbeat, et al--and see what I come up with. It will take more time, though.

Hansi is a really good singer. Became better later on. On the album Follow The Blind, he doesn't have as much range. Didn't he play the guitar at the same time? Probably has something to do with it, like Kai Hansen.

He played bass. I do think it had something to do with him getting better that he left it (he stopped playing it in Blind Guardian before they started to record Nightfall In Middle-Earth) but he's range is already magnificent in albums like Imaginations From The Other Side and Somewhere Far Beyond. However, I think Hansi has progressively gotten better as a singer and that does have - I think - lots to do with the fact that he started to take singing lessons before Nightfall In Middle-Earth.
