Recchi (10/11) - Thornton (05/06) - Iginla (13/14): This isn't prime Iginla, but he's still pretty damn good, and I always thought a Thornton/Iginla connection would be great. Recchi was a guy that could fit in anywhere.
Sturm (07/08) - Savard (08/09) - Kessel (08/09): Savard/Kessel was magic in 08/09. Sturm was an underrated player in Boston, and he really put together a great season in 07/08.
Lucic (10/11) - Krejci (13/14) - Horton (10/11): The bash brothers were at their height in the Cup-winning year, and Krejci was at his best all-around last year.
Marchand (11/12) - Bergeron (13/14) - Seguin (11/12): This line is probably better than the first 3 lines, but I put them down here for more of a defensive role. Bergeron is a player that seemingly keeps getting better, and the Marchand/Seguin duo was at its best in 11/12.
Extra: Peverley (11/12): One of the most versatile players I have ever seen. The guy can play anywhere in the line-up at any position and still be effective, which makes him perfect as the 13th forward. While he was a testament to that in the Cup run, he was truly an integral part of the team in 11/12.
Honorable Mentions: Wheeler (08/09), Ryder (10/11), Smith (13/14), Soderberg (14/15), Eriksson (14/15), Boyes (05/06), Kelly (11/12), Axelsson (07/08), Murray (06/07)
Defense
Chara (08/09) - Wideman (08/09): Dynamite in 08/09. While Chara is good every year, Wideman's 08/09 was pretty much a freak year in an otherwise underwhelming, mistake-riddled career.
Seidenberg (10/11) - Boychuk (13/14): 10/11 Seidenberg is the most underrated player I've seen in Boston. Words can't describe how important he was in that Cup-winning year. While him and Boychuk never really worked that well together TBH, I'd still want last year's Boychuk in there.
Krug (13/14) - Hamilton (14/15): While I think this year's Hamilton gets very overrated, there wasn't really that much competition at RD, and I think he'd be much more effective in a lesser role. Krug was truly a breath of fresh air last year and I think he was THE key to turning Boston's PP around.
Extra: Ference (10/11): Just a heart and soul player. One of those unheralded guys that you need on a successful team.
Honorable Mentions: Miller (13/14), McQuaid (10/11), Stuart (05/06), Ward (07/08)
Goalies
Thomas (10/11): Not much to say here; this was one of the greatest single-season performances of all-time, regardless of position.
Rask (13/14): He was the model of consistency last year, and such a crucial part of a Boston team that had no hiccups throughout the entire regular season.
Extra: Khudobin (12/13): There is just a massive gap after Thomas and Rask, but Khudobin handled himself very well as the back-up in the lockout-shortened year.
Honorable Mentions: Toivonen (05/06)
