They’ve had from 2015 draft -> to build their own looking team.
That’s a really long time in hockey
Oh, I know. I was just saying he followed in his predecessors footsteps with the overpay for the bottom half of the roster.

The Sabres and Mr Adams have boxed themselves into a corner with only a few teams that have real cap space to afford Ike without the Sabres taking back an equal amount of salary, those two teams are Calgary and Anaheim.
I left out the Kraken as they have no assets the Sabres would be interested in.
KA should have traded him prior to free agent signing day.
This will be an interesting trade when it happens.

He would make a big difference to this blueline.

Bigger dude. Plays with an edge. Good skater. Knows the system. Plays both sides equally well.

I wish we hadn't left him unprotected in the first place.

Please make this happen!
From the list of defencemen the Kraken have, nothing against JL but he is not good enough to play there.
Makes sense for them to trade him.
No way I am giving a second rounder up for him now.
4th at best.

Welcome to the Jungle
Lauzon for a 3rd would have me dancing in the street. Even though I am not sure who becomes 7th D that’s a good problem to have and one we would worry about if we made it through camp healthy.

For a 2nd I definitely do it but I question if it was good asset management. I think I would have gone the 4+4 route but I also believe that would have exposed Smith which we also couldn’t afford.

For a 2nd and a prospect. I think Steen/Zboril is as high as I would go.

Why not trade Debrusk to get Lauzon back ? Debrusk seems kind of redundant with the 3 forwards Sweeney picked up . Bruins need a physical defenceman . Lauzon’s not perfect but fills a need.

I wouldn't. I think the best option for DeBrusk right now is waiting and hoping he can show some of his scoring ability is still there with new and improved line-mates on the 3rd line so he can build his value back up
