BTO once let it ride
I remember BTO songs from when I was reallllyyyyyyy young, and not realizing the band didn't have one lead singer. I don't think I was old enough to understand a band was allowed to have more than one lead singer.

And I remember when I heard let it ride being like ''That's the same band as takin care of business/you ain't seen nothing yet? Really? It sounds like a different guy''.

so many bands with multi singers..... i could go on for hours and im sure you could too.

(thats what she said) ....

but i still love this classic.... early sloan ...trading vocals

all their albums have each doing lead vocals on songs

The Smith breakaway out of the box was like Ken Daneyko's breakaway out of the box on Patrick Roy.

Only Smith actually scored.

I wish Dano remembered the breakaway out of the box on Patrick Roy, which was either in 01-02 or 02-03. I know it was AFTER we played them in the 2001 SCF and both Dano and Roy's last season was 02-03.

I'm always waiting to hear him say ''Partner, I had a breakaway out of the penalty box on Patrick Roy! Ohhhh boy! Of course I didn't score, it's always hard to score against the great Patrick Roy, but it would have been a story for the grandkids had I pulled that one off!''. Maybe he doesn't remember it because he didn't score? But how many breakaways could Ken Daneyko have possibly had in his NHL career? Not many.

I was shocked that late 30's Ken Daneyko could have a breakaway at all, but this actually happened.

just gotta quickly call out this idiot (it’s me i’m the idiot) who was against Bratt getting a big deal because he was seemingly an unwilling and unable defensive player.

the guy does it all. it’s one of the best contracts in the whole sport and my god we’re so lucky.

I was annoyed that we had to tender Miles Wood and give him $3+ million for one more year and give Bratt that one year deal for $5.5 million or whatever it was. I wanted to just give him $8 million last year for 7-8 years and be done with it. I guess I was also sweating over how hard it was with his agent. Not as much as some on this board, who already had him for gone because of it, but I guess I was enough to want him to have just been given his $8 million for 8 years in the summer of 2022.

Then we got him for less than $8 million a year later. No harm done.

Land of Hope & Cups.
Looking at the highlights, Daws reminded me of Schmid last year in his poise, squaring up to the puck, rebound control and the efficiency in his movements. Schmid doesn’t look like that way for the most part this year.

Conspiracy theory: product of the minor league goalie coach whose name escapes me and @Guttersniped eloquently put together his coaching timeline in a post a bit back? Then good old Dusty takes that and f***s it up?

Just a coffee talk topic to talk amongst yourselves.

Who is the AHL Goalie Coach currently?

And can the Devils fire Rogalski and bring THAT GUY up instead?

Is this our first win on a Friday this year? It feels like we’ve had a lot of Friday games this year and lost all of them before this one.

Actually we beat the Islanders and Sabres on Friday’s back in October.

Were now 3-4-1 in Friday games this season.

I had to look it up because I wasn’t sure, but his name is Brian Eklund.

He was drafted by the Lightning in 2000 and played one single NHL game in 05-06 for the Lightning. A loss against Montreal.

He also apparently got a cup ring in 2004 for being the Lightning’s third goalie/on the black ace squad.
