My brain made me read this as "Best AHL team of the last decade." I was thinking, wow who cares.

I don't see a problem with your list but if were going by production. no.

If it's overall talent? Then I guess it's fine.

I think people forget how good Vincent Lecavaillier was in his prime but I'd have him there.

(WOW time flies, just realized a lot of Lecavailier's prime was over a decade ago)

Same with Pronger. I was going to say him but its been over a decade. Amzing.

Probably my top 4 from the past 10 years (these stats are from the past 10 years), Lundqvist should be undisputed number one. The next three pretty much have identical stats... it then comes down to what stat you value more

Lundqvist 2.35 GAA 0.920 SV% 304 W 195 L 45 OTL (557 Games Played)
Rinne 2.37 GAA 0.918 SV% 273 W 155 L 44 OTL (513 Games Played)
Luongo 2.41 GAA 0.919 SV% 257 W 148 L 35 OTL (480 Games Played)
Price 2.41 GAA 0.919 SV% 249 W 169 L 36 OTL (478 Games Played)

I would say he is close - SV% only slightly lower
Quick 2.25 GAA 0.917 SV% 266 W 167 L 46 OTL (503 Games Played)

There is a long list of other guys who have great stats, but I don't think have the games played to qualify.
Rask 2.24 GAA 0.923 SV% 203 W 125L 38 OTL (397 Games Played)
Bobrovsky 2.43 GAA 0.920 SV% 188 W 109 L 20 OTL (339 Games Played)
Crawford 2.37 GAA 0.919 SV% 218 W 117 L 20 OTL (384 Games Played)

If you just want to do the past 8 years – I didn’t add Lundqvist here but Price has him by one tick in GAA and SV% but the king has won 20 more games… Schneider kinda comes out of nowhere. Rask same boat, Price has him by one tick in SV% but Rask has the better GAA.

Schneider 2.28 GAA 0.922 SV% 147 W 120 L 23 OTL (327 Games Played)
Price 2.32 GAA 0.922 SV% 213 W 133 L 35 OTL (385 Games Played)
Holtby 2.32 GAA 0.922 SV% 199 W 76 L 32 OTL (315 Games Played)

Quick again, I would put just below because of the save percentage

Quick 2.17 GAA 0.919 SV% 206 W 125 L 38 OTL (383 Games Played)

Tried to keep it as positionally accurate as I could (no RHD's on the left side, no centers on the wing, etc...):

Ovechkin - Crosby - Kane
Benn - Malkin - Perry
D. Sedin - McDavid - Kessel
Marchand - Bergeron - St. Louis

Keith - Karlsson
Chara - Doughty
Vlasic - Letang

Price
Bobrovsky
Lundqvist

So we're all just cool with the only 60 goal scorer, 4 time top 2 in goals, 4 time top 5 in points, superstar being left off of the team in favor of guys like Tarasenko, Benn, and Hall? Just trying to get a reading here.

Yeah - and what center other than Crosby and maybe Malkin has had a better decade? Joe Thornton? Reeeeeally?

McDavid is a tough one because he hasn't been active in the decade for very long, but he's also already accomplished things Stamkos hasn't.

Bergeron, it's just an appreciation of his defensive dominance (4 Selke's + 2 runner-ups + another top 5 finish) while maintaining very good offensive numbers (top 25 in points).

Giroux was actually the hardest omission, being 4th in point production through the decade so far.

Do Thornton, St. Louis and Lidstrom really could as this decade? Their prime was moreso from 2000-10 no?

Yes. Won the Norris in 11. Pretty easily superior offensively and defensively to all three while making Ian White look like an All-Star and then him not being an nhl player afterward.

I don’t know that 2011 is the best example of him belonging on this decade’s team.

I consider that a pretty controversial win. He barely won, and as a negative player. That year really seemed more about name recognition.

If we are talking 2010, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 2016 there is zero chance that Connor McDavid belongs on this list. Sorry by the end of the decade sure, but not yet.

Crosby, Malkin, Backstrom, Tavares, Sedin, Thornton, Stamkos, Getzlaf and a few I am sure I have forgotten.

And there was quite a bit of pushback about it at the time.

Seems pretty straightforward that PK Subban’s entire career, which has included a Norris and two 1st team AS awards, outweighs a single controversial Norris season.

Weird that I'm saying this, but Daniel Sedin probably doesn't belong, even with the dearth of left wingers. Even more shocking, but Toews might be being underrated here...lots of recency bias with some of these lists. Kucherov hasn't done nearly enough in the decade to be considered for example.
