But you're missing the point! They're both Leafs prospects, and it's your god-given duty to name them in this thread! Get with the program, son! ;)
I wasn't saying they were the clear-cut #1's nor was I being biased... but there is no denying that both have had STELLAR tourny's.

wow, oshie seems like a good energy player with skill, and maybe a steal as early as the blues got him but he'd be hard pressed to slip into any gm's top 20 in my opinion, not that i'm an expert.

staal, bourdon, parent, barker, toews, malkin, radulov, rask, tukonen, korpikoski, bergfors, backstrom, kessel, e. johnson, j. johnson, schremp, ryan, frolik, rask, etc. i would take any of these players over oshie no questions asked.

to answer your question though i'd say anybody would have to be crazy not to take malkin at this point. the johnson's are unreal but i've never seen anybody dominate a world junior game like malkin did last night against a very good (albeit tired) usa team.

I don't think that I am being controversial in saying that if Malkin were in this years draft he would be the clear cut number one. You would have 30 out of 30 GM's saying that and it would not even be close. No knock on anyone else, but that is the reality.

ahahaha@you debating whether you should take Oshie or Malkin...

1)Malkin
2)Kessel
3)J.Johnson
4)E.Johnson
5)Toews
6)Pouliot
7)Bourdon
8)Mueller
9)Ryan (terrible tournament, but still a top 10 player)
10)Barker

Well since most people tend to only consider Malkin from team Russia and numerous players from the USA despite Russia being the better team I will try my hand at a Russian list. Based on this tournament:

1. Malkin
2. Emelin
3. Lemtyugov
4. Shirokov
5. Khudobin
6. Biryukov
7. Radulov
8. Lisin
9. Zubov
10. Voloshenko

you're right. Russia is the better team.

But if we're making a list of prospects, the US has better players at the top (except for Malkin of course.)

1.Malkin
2.Kessel
3+4. Johnson (x2)
