1 goal games with the oilers

my math may be off but I think this is the oilers 33rd or 34 1 goal game of the year

Loss*

That game had plenty of positives. It's a tough one to take with how we lost.

For the most part, I was very happy with Oesterle. If only we had the depth of high quality callups up front as well...

Decent effort. Bad luck on the GWG.

Yak took another step forward which is always nice to see.

Crazy to think what we could do with a healthy lineup and a better goalie...

If all that could be topped off with just one D better than all we have we might actually win quite a few games.

Yakupov having another good game = I'll take it.

Just going to throw this out there...I know it would be the softest line in history, but assuming MacT doesn't do anything this summer of much note... Slepyshev would look a hell of a lot better than Hamilton or Purcell on Yak/Roy's wing.

New Record?
That was a really good game imo. Was watchable and close, while at the same time not getting a win or loser point. Perfect game ;)

Much better game than last night. Sucks I only got to see one goal on my trip to edmonton.

Anyone else buy signed hats tonight?

I got Petry (lol), Scrivens and Klefbom (very happy about that one).

Yakupov was buzzing all weekend. Don't trade this kid, because you wont get what he will be worth in a couple years.

I hope they put Hall with Yakupov when he comes back.

I've said it before :
Pouliot RNH Eberle
Hall Roy Yakupov.

Two lines that have players capable of driving the play. Pouliot also plays well with RNH and Eberle. Yak played exceptional in his rookie year, when Hall was on his line. Add Roy who's been the "Yak whisperer."

It's not like Purcell is some powerfoward. Speaking of grit though, I loved Yak's battle with Cogs near the end of the game

I loved pretty much everything Yak did this game.

Perhaps he could direct the top line to the arena next game, they seem to have missed the last couple.

Klefbom had a strong game, Yak put in another solid effort. Schultz looked alright. The forward core for the most part was alright, but the defensive zone was sloppy at times. There were some iffy, soft plays that were way to close to our own net when trying to start a break out.

Nuge clanked one off the post and had a couple of pretty good plays, wasn't all over the place like Yak, but wasn't crap out there either. I thought Eberle played quite well he made of intelligent passes and constantly drew defensive attention, he doesn't tend to drive the play all by himself though so without half decent support he usually won't get a lot of chances; Pouliot was the one dragging the line down IMO, he had some nice forecheck pressure, but looks like he doesn't have his legs fully underneath him yet and was a bit inconsistent from shift to shift in general.

I have to give Ference credit they dialed back his minutes since they saddled him with a rookie and he looked pretty decent in a diminished role. Schultz was pretty bad out there, some bad turnovers and still doesn't have the greatest grasp on when to hold the line and when to cut back and play D.

Klefbom has been great these past few games. Hopefully he can keep it up for the rest of the season, and many to come.

There was a game!? Damn, didn't even know.

Losing to one of the best teams in the league isn't surprising, even if it was a blow out. 2-1 is about as a good of a result as anyone good ask for, considering how badly we got beat yesterday

MacDavid with 2 goals and 3 apples tonight :)
A couple more games like this and he will beat Crosby's draft year pace. (2.7PPG) went from 2.5 to 2.55 in a game.

He is only 8 pts back of Strome now (20 less games) and 11 back of Marner for OHL scoring race.

Lotto winner is getting the new Kid.
