Wonder which one will sit as a 7th, Kindl or Lashoff...?

Tough spot to bench Lashoff after a zero-goals-against -game.

So Kindl...?

XO playing I hope and not just sitting as a backup in case something happens.

Please XO, grab a spot and never let go. Knock Kindl/Lashoff out of this lineup.

Glad that he got recalled and really curious about how well he's doing. But seemed he being ready to contribute in NHL lately? Didn't see any griffins game yet.

I didn't see anything in particular last Sunday but Kindl must have got himself in Babs dog house. He didn't hardly play the second half of the game and none of the third. Then he was a scratch last night. Something must have set Babcock off. I thought the whole team was off Sunday

Yeah the infection makes no sense...takes a little time for an infection to set in. He went off to the locker after the fight to presumably get treatment on it. So I dunno...It's probably just a nasty cut on his hand and they're holding him out to prevent an infection, as hot, sweaty gloves aren't the best thing for a fresh wound.

Grab a spot and never let it go.

Kronwall, Dekeyser, Smith, Ericsson, Quincey, Ouelette, Kindl/Lashoff is a 7 man group I can live with in the short term.

I'd honestly waive Kindl or Lashoff without blinking an eye.

The human mouth is the 2nd dirtiest part of the body (first is rather obvious). So say he cut his hand punching said dude in his face off dudes teeth then puts a sweaty dirty glove back on it isn't outside of the realm of possibility.

He already did. In camp. He should have played 18 games with the Wings already this season.

Granted.

I suppose I mean make it impossible to send him back down. He played well enough in pre-season but he didn't blow anyone away, myself included. To me it was like Nesty vs. Cleary. In my eyes, Nesty is better. He's faster and he wins more battles and he generates more chances. But it's not enough of a big difference to where it's impossible to waive the guy. Turn it up, Ouellet.

I really hope he wins a spot. It would be killer to see him with DK or even Smith. Although putting him with DK leaves Smith with Kindl and I'm not too sure how that lines holds up defensively.

Yeah, waive Kindl and then you have Kronner-E-DeKeyser-Smith-Quincey-Ouellet and Lashoff as your 7th. Gotta clear out some dead weight on defense like we did last year with all those gawd awful forwards that Holland considered "depth". :shakehead

So does that mean Kindl will be back in. Not sure if a Ouellet Lashoff pairing would be good. Why does it have to be Smith?

I'm kind of shocked they've called up XO instead of going with Lashoff-Kindl. If Kindl is the odd man out, then that speaks volumes about where Babcock is with Kindl. Something has to be be going on behind the scenes because Kindl was actually playing decent hockey prior to the benching/scratching. He's played a lot worse for a lot longer than that and has never dealt with repercussions, particularly last season.

Part of this makes me wonder if the trade speculation actually is true. Is it possible that Kindl was benched against Chicago because Babcock was told of a potential trade during the game? Kindl did look decent enough for the few games prior to the benching - maybe an opposing scout was finally convinced that Kindl has enough talent that he was worth trading for and the Wings have since been trying to work out the details. I don't really think so, but I want to believe it. Franson for Kindl wouldn't be the worst trade in the world. Toronto is surely feeling the pressure for a little shake-up, Franson is loathed in Toronto, and the Wings could use a right-handed PP specialist...
