Do we really care that much about having the best record over Vegas/Colordao? I mean I guess with re-seeding and home-ice advantage in a theoretical cup finals against Vegas or Colorado it could matter but I don't think that's all that important, more important just locking up the top seed in our division and a better record than the East/Canada teams and being healthy going into the playoffs (plus our last 2 games are against Nashville, if we have the division locked up by then I'd absolutely rest players in those games and help them out so we are more likely to face them than Dallas)...

We have no idea how the divisions stack up against each other so in a theoretical final 4 of Carolina, Vegas/Colorado, Toronto/Edmonton, and any of the 4 East teams does it really matter who we play in the final 4 round? Toronto is ahead of all the East teams right now and if we don't get the best record we'd play them instead of the East winner, Edmonton is behind them so vice versa. But who knows if those 2 Canada teams are actually worse/better than whichever team comes out of the East? I'm not sure that seeding then is so important, just so long as we avoid Vegas/Colorado before the Cup finals (which already seems like a given). Home ice advantage in the cup finals would be nice but I don't really think we need it. If we win out and get the best record then great, but I won't be upset if Vegas finishes with 1 more point than us or whatever. I'm not superstitious about the Presidents trophy either...

Are they pushing for the President's Trophy? Not necessarily. But I think Rod and Trocheck made good points they are trying to continue to play their game and not take the foot off the gas.

Rest the nicked up players, and make sure Mrazek and Ned are ready and not overworked entering the playoffs (relatively easy given they've been alternating goalies all season.) Beyond that, go out and play your game.

Looks to be the same as last night, but Mrazek getting the start. Heard that Skjei was a bit banged up from his slide into the boards, so its nice to see him in the projected lineup so far.

Yeah I completely agree, the team should keep trying to win the games while being careful with some of the guys banged up or who could use some load management once the top seed is locked up. I just mean from a fan perspective -- would others here really be upset if we win 3 of the last 4 while Vegas wins out? I saw a bunch of Canes fans cheering Vegas' loss last night and yeah it's cool that got us back into the top spot in the league but I don't really care what Vegas does. If we win 3 of our last 4 I'll be just as happy with that whether Vegas wins out and passes us or loses games and we get the President's Trophy. I'm scoreboard watching with Tampa and Florida, not so much Vegas...

I don't think anyone is advocating playing hurt players or anything like that. This team has proven all year that it doesn't need its full lineup to win or play well. But yes, being top seed throughout matters. And it goes beyond home ice and last change. If there is a Wild Card Chaos type thing where a lesser team makes it out of one of the divisions, it could mean a more favorable matchup if we advance to the semifinals. You telling me that if Montreal makes it out of the worthless Canadian division we wouldn't want to play them over say Washington?
