Gross take. Harkins falling out of the first round was inexplicable. I wanted him at 17 right up until Sweeney finished passing on both Barzal and Connor. Really high IQ player, above average stick and skates, but not amazing. You watch him pre-draft and you'd like to see more intensity and a fuller frame. Post draft, goes through a pretty normal development curve, fills out his frame and gets his feet moving. He starts this season as a top scorer in the AHL and gets called up permanently.
He hasn't been trusted in a lot of big situations yet, but hasn't disappointed with the chances he's gotten and has looked good when missed or interrupted line changes have left him paired up with top players. The "2015 line" of Roslovic - Harkins - Appleton was tossed together due to injury and for the 3 games or so that they were kept together, they were really effective and basically carried the team offensively.
Maurice might be pleasantly surprised if he played Harkins 20 mins each night, but this is not a PomoPlug, so I would expect more like 14.
