The only reason I could see it come to this is if he and Kraft had a serious disagreement about the direction of any rebuild. But even that would require Kraft being super dug in far beyond anything we've ever seen to date.

How many more years is BB signed for? Probably not expecting him to sign an extension given his age.

You're right but it's gonna be all season haha

Look, I figure maybe 8-8 and so what if it is worse than 8-8. I survived the 2-14 seasons in the 90s and also the 70s and 80s. 20 mofoing years of greatness and no one can take that away from us.

Take the taunting from the Bills, Fish, Dolts and Jets fans, they deserve to ridicule us. They will never accomplish what the Patriots did for 20 years but it is their time this year. No biggie!

He deserves the Crosby grace more than crosby

Never mention Crosby and Grace in the same sentence. Some people might get the wrong idea.

His drafts have been downright abysmal since like 2016. Nobody can be successful in the NFL without drafting well. Nobody.

There's no QB around capable of overcoming these bad drafts anymore.

There are some things you just don't do. One of those is fire the architect of your record-setting dynasty after one year of mediocrity.

That's the sort of thing you look back at after the following decade of 7-9 seasons and think, maybe we should've just kept the culture in place.

Is this a serious post? Fire BB? Just because he can't magically conjure up a successful team out of what is basically Stephon Gilmore and a scrap heap? I don't like the Patriots but damn.

For one, what coach is going to do better with this team right now? For two, if Doug Pederson gets leeway in Philadelphia due to one SB title can you imagine the leeway BB would have after SIX Lombardis and 9 Super Bowl appearances in the past two decades? He's there until he wants to leave.

Can't really point to the player personnel as an excuse when Belichick has complete control over that. That's his scrap heap that he built.

They're not going to send him packing over 1 shitty year, but he gets full credit for the shitty year.

Belichick will never get fired. He’ll retire or resign first. He’s a Parcells disciple, that guy retired like 10 times.

His drafting the last few years has been bad and the team is paying for it now. They lack talent. In BBs defense they've always drafted at the end of the draft and have sold off a few picks to make some SB runs, but its been bad. I feel like he tries to out smart everyone at times and lets his ego get in the way by drafting div 2 player or taking a guy high risk guy too early. Then you have the whole trading down thing which is maddening

I'm more defending BB the coach than BB the GM at the moment, though they do come as a package deal.

No question their drafting has been inadequate recently.

No, Bill isn't getting fired any time soon. After the last 20 years I'd say he's earned the right to rebuild the Pats even if it takes a few seasons.

Belichick is exceptional at many things related to football & team management. Drafting is NOT one of those things. And the team is paying for it now. You can see the difference in success/hit rate in the draft after Pioli left. It was masked for a long time by Brady, and Belichick's ability to turn other teams trash into solid players.

He will never be fired, but I'd love to see him bring in some draft resources & defer to them more often than not.

I know the guys lives and breathes football but there comes a time where a human being cannot do 18 things at once even though his wife keeps a running tally of things we have yet to do, this is definitely not at all what's happening in my household and some decisions need to be delegated to others for the sake of sanity and what is best for the team.

Man is a lights-out football coach and GM but he's probably not able to endlessly scout collegiate football and do his job at the same time anymore.
