Just curious, might not get a lot of early votes with Easter supper coming but I'll keep it open 2-3 days to get more votes

How would you rank these (starting from worse)

- Mika Zibanejad + 33rd OA in 2018 + 64th OA in 2018 is ----> Jacob Bernard-Docker

- Mark Stone is ----> Erik Brannstrom + Egor Sokolov

- Kyle Turris + 4th OA in 2019 + Shane Bowers (28th OA in 2017) + 63rd OA in 2019 is ----> Lassi Thomson

- Mike Hoffman + 126th OA in 2020 is ----> Philippe Daoust

- 7th OA in 2022 + 39th OA in 2022 + 2024 3rd round pick (OTT) is ----> 2024 1st round pick (BOS) + 2024 4th round pick (DET) + Donovan Sebrango

- 10th OA in 2021 is ----> Tyler Boucher

- Ryan Dzingel + 212th OA in 2019 + 76th OA in 2023 + 2024 7th round pick (OTT) + 25% retention on Murray AAV is ----> absolutely nothing

- Cody Ceci + 44th OA in 2023 + Ben Harpur + 2026 4th round pick (OTT) is ----> 2024 2nd round pick (WSH)

- 12th OA in 2023 + 2024 2nd round pick (WSH) + 2026 2nd round pick (OTT) is ----> Jakob Chychrun

Hard to pick just one! :)
It’s painful. We got so screwed by such a crazy man.
I’ll go with a three way tie. The first three.

For the poll though I went with his first trade. Zibanejad. Hard to top that one.

So many choices….all under Dorion’s watch. Unbelievable this guy wasn’t fired 3-4 seasons prior

Can't say we had many dull moments during his watch! Well, maybe during the playoffs every season I guess

Z-bad trade. Stone a close 2nd, Tyler Boucher 10th pick is nearby.

The Turris tree includes the 4th OA pick in 2019 (which became Bowen Byram)

But do not worry, Lassi Superman Thomson is going to save the day

Kyle Turris for me, not because we should have kept him, but because we could have traded him for Girard+ and kept 4th OA (Byram or Seider, given we were apparently really high on Seider)

Doing that likely means we don't trade Stone for Brannstrom (since we likely have two better D in the system from the Turris trade) so maybe Stone turns into something more useful too,

I voted Zbad because its next level awful, but realistically Turris was probably worse. Hard to pick just one.

The Phaneuf acquisition and the underlying consequences is up there for me too.

Throw in a heaping spoonful of suffering after trading Ceci and then Brown

The Boucher pick and the rest of the 2021 draft was one of the most blatant forms of narcissism I have ever seen.

Dorion and Mann were OBSESSED with drafting "under the radar" players to try to seem like the smartest guys in the room instead of simply going for the BPA.
They are gone. Let’s move on.

Wait.. are you saying they .. scouted players .. instead of using a draft guide you found on the internet for free?

Didn't Mika also technically become Brassard? Anyhow, I voted Mika.

Tough crowd.

This is basically destined to be a Pierre Dorion thread given the poll.
Well I think the clear intent of the thread is to hang on to bitterness, mostly derived from Dorion's moves.

It's done. It's over. Serves no purpose.

We’re still dealing with the fallout. Probably for another 5-10 years. It’s not “over”.
The moves explain why we are and have been at the bottom of the standings for almost a decade and have such an uphill climb ahead of us.
The day we win the Stanley cup you can say it’s over.

Well then, you might still be attributing our issues to Melnyk and Dorion in the year 2050.

Every GM that takes over a team has to deal with what was left behind from his predecesor. Sometimes good, sometimes bad, usually a mix of both. Once The Pick is forfeited, then it's moving on time. The Pick is the icing on the cake of Dorion's reign.
