This is pretty funny. The reaction in Sweden was more like "eh, whatever, we still won" and in the polls a big majority thinks the punishment is too harsh.

If this was punishment for what she said then this would be way, way, way too harsh...but it's not, it's a cumulative effect and the USSF has just had enough of her being a loose cannon. Good on the Swedes for not taking a rambling lunatic too seriously.

It really is impossible to feel bad for her.

I had tickets to see Hope Solo on Wednesday but now that she is taking a break from her NWSL team there isn't much motivation to go

I will still go to see that Canadian keeper whatever her name is

A lot would need to be done to get me to an NWSL game. Free tickets, ride there and back, 4 hour tailgate...

    Unfortunate news...

Lauren Holiday was diagnosed with a brain tumour as she is awaiting the birth of her child.

They suspend Solo for her comments. Let's see what they do for a player not standing for the national anthem against Thailand.

I can literally get Red Stars tickets whenever I want them (Fire, too, but those have more restrictions) and I don't go.

Yeah, and all Al Capone did was avoid paying taxes.

FIFA Women's Under 17 World Cup is underway in Jordan (Yes, in a Arab country) and there has been some good action in the group stage.

In particular, a couple of the goals from the Cameroon-Venezuela match.

A little Juche didn't hurt the North Koreans in 2016 as they claimed the U-17 Title in Jordan (def. Japan) and the U-20 Crown in Papua New Guinea (def. France).

WNY Flash won the NWSL title while Olympique Lyonnais took the UEFA CL crown.

The story for 2017: Will the USWNT go on strike in their demands for equality?

The Netherlands ladies win the Euro over Denmark on home soil! Historic win and with some beautiful football also. Martens player of the tournament for me. All the games were streamed live for free on youtube and it was really fun to watch.
