As with a typical Bragin Roster first 1-2 lines are offensive, 3rd has offensive and defensive capabilities and 4th is the hardworking energy line. For entertainments sake I would love to see 3 offensive lines and for him to include the 98s but I believe you're right. It would be lucky that even one of these players makes the team. Can't argue with his track record though.

I believe in Bragin's model the bolded part more or less applies to all the Top9.

Yeah Bragin spreads out players with different kinds of skills on different lines. I don't think he thinks of in terms of "checking line"/"scoring line", but rather seeks good chemistry between players.

If Provorov does not available.

Samsonov, Krasotkin, Berdin

Rykov - Zborovskiy
Sergachyov - Voronkov
Sidorov - Volkov
Schemerov - Minulin

Abramov - Trenin - Kaprizov
Kuznetsov - Vorobiev - Guryanov
Polunin - Rubtsov - Popugaev (giant one)
Mityakin - Bochkaryov - Yurtaykin

A lot of quality forwards will not make this team:
Centers: Karnaukhov, Zhukenov, Meshcheryakov, Krikunenko
Wingers: Sokolov, Chebykin, Popugaev (small one), Maltsev, Kayumov, Artyomov, Chebykin, Korostelyov, Babenko, Kosorenkov etc.

Some other guys can breakout next season. Like Dubin for example. I don't know about giant centerman Pavlychev. He's probably too slow and not skilled enough for this team.

Won't make it because of their age?

I know Rubtsov is one year underage, but he is good enough to be on the team.

Also, Ivashov, Polunin, Voronkov?

Win at the 4 Nations and the first unit of Rykov-Sidorov; Kaprizov-Vorobyov-Guryanov looked solid there, getting 6 goals in 3 games. Outside the first line Nikolay Chebykin had a good performance with 2+2 in 3 games.

Next stop is the Black Sea Cup at the end of May. It might be that there will be no usual camp in Canada this summer, so this makes the Black Sea Cup pretty important.

Some important forwards are missing for various reasons. But that's fine - others get a chance to shine.

Also no Shchemerov.

Who do people think would be potentially solid role, grinder-type, players for the upcoming World Juniors?

I think those have the best chances to go on WJC 2017.
+ Samsonov
+ Sergachev. Minulin maybe. Provorov if he'll be available.
+ Kaprizov, Trenin, Kuznetsov, Abramov, Sokolov, Rubtsov, Polunin

I would like to see something like this:

Kaprizov - Vorobyev - Guryanov
Sokolov - Zhukenov - Abramov
Trenin - Rubtsov - Popugayev
Yurtaikin - Alexeyev - Krikunenko
Kuznetsov

Sergachev - Zborovskiy
Rykov - Sidorov
Kudako - Volkov
Voronkov

Samsonov
Krasotkin
Berdin

But I really doubt about Yaroslavl's line. Yurtaikin has pretty good chances to crack the roster. But other two are to small for Bragin I think.
Will be interesting to compare with real roster in 6 months :) I've got a lot of '98 players, but I think it's only fair since all of them are top talents.

I would bet money that we won't see Sokolov/Yakovenko. Have my doubts with Popugaev too.

18-year olds are always at a disadvantage unless they are 'special.'

I don't know but I won't be surprised if guys like Chebykin and Belyaev crack the roster and be our 4th line grinders.

I don't know why Mityakin is not on the roster, but I expect him to be on December's team.
