Sitting at a desk.
The Jets are finally a legit contender, after years and years of all of the hockey world saying "man, they should be good, look at all that young talent".

I am wondering if the Flyers are going to fill that position now. In the offseason, people had them above teams like Toronto, Ottawa, NYI and Carolina. The hypetrain went to ludicrous speed, and now it's flying off the rails. They need time to mature. Maybe we all jumped the gun a little?

The team is not good. It needs a lot more than what it has in the pipeline right now.

Jets hype was warranted, everyone saw what Chevy was building. Takes time to put together a team through drafting and developing and you're seeing that now.

Flyers have good players, they're not going to flip the switch over night. Don't see why all the pressure needs to be there on a team heading in the right direction.

All summer we heard about that overrated d... same thing with Carolina....
"Elite" d cores....so elite that neither of them are in a playoff position.

I don't think very many people were saying the Flyers D would be anywhere close to "elite" this year, the average age is like 16.

On topic: There are a few teams that could make the next step soon, not sure who is most likely next though!

Winning a playoff game could be more useful then graduating from the OPs school of Jets homerism

Can someone tell me why anyone thought the flyers would be a good team this year?

What exactly were supposed to be the strengths of this flyers team this year?

Their forward core is really old too. Giroux, Voracek, Simmonds.... and Patrick isn't looking that good either....

Has this team ever won a playoff game?

Fair point but the roster has changed so much over the last few years that the direct connection to the past (especially anything before 2011) is kind of a moot point.

For Winnipeg fans winning a game in the playoffs is not the benchmark ideal.
We'll take a win in the second round ;)
Jets 1.0 won some series but always ran into those mean 80's Oilers teams who kept stealing our lunch money.

Baby steps. Making the playoffs and being a strong regular season team is the first step. Long way to go (it's still only November)
