Player: Nick Ritchie

Drafted By: Anaheim Ducks (10th overall)

Position: Left Wing/Right Wing

Final Central Scouting Ranking: No. 7 North American skater

Height/Weight: 6'3'', 229 lbs

DOB: December 5, 1995 (18 years old)

Most Recent Affiliation: OHL, Peterborough Petes

Mark Seidel, the Chief Scout at NACScouting has this to say about Ritchie:

“Nasty streak that scares opponents. He showed an ability to fight very well and is a lefty. Dominant at times, physical specimen, looked disinterested at times, very heavy shot. He goes through guys when he wants to, exceptional for some games and then invisible for others. He has the most upside of ANY forward in the draft. Impossible to move when he went to the front of the net.”

Ritchie is a prototypical power forward with an impressive blend of size, skill and strength. He skates well for a big player and has agile feet. He bulls his way around the ice and has an impressive, erratic shot.

PWFs usually take some time to develop. But I do think he'll be a nice player in a few years. Everyone on TSN thought it was the right pick.

Not sure we have a player with his skill set in our group of prospects either.

I see the comparisons to Rick Nash being accurate. With more of a mean streak and less skill.
