A fully realized Be-A-GM mode:

-Being able to sign players during the season.
-Actual realistic player progression, guys like Sam Reinhart shouldn't take 5 years to be an 80 something overall.
-Line chemistry, hot and cold streaks, some player personality. If an 85 overall player is being played with 4th line minutes, he should request a trade.
-Suspensions(especially in games where you get a game misconduct, with a necessary slider)
-You should be able to edit players stats during be-a-gm mode, and to be able to force trades between other teams, that way you can update teams roster during your be-a-gm run.
-More effort on presentation.

General stuff:
-Hire a new scouting team, the ratings are atrocious.
-Improve passing mechanics.
-Make Doc actually sound excited when **** goes down.

Legends:
-Actually give a **** about the league's wealth of history. Add either enough players for an actual legend team, or add great historic hockey teams, ie NBA 2K. If you can't get the rights, do what NHL 2K did and make it so that all you have to do is edit their names.

In terms of a wholeistic video game, NBA's 2K series make NHL look like utter ****.

Be able to go to edit lines during the offseason...it's a pain in the butt to have to figure out/guess who you re-signed when you're going after free agents.

I almost exclusively sim with BaGM, and the 2 I have been for screaming for are:

1. In-season re-signing.
2. Hire/Fire Coach/Staff. You can do it in Madden, why not here? Have ecah coach have attributes (+ and -) that affect your teams play, and have a budget set for your staff that increases as your team does better (ie. revenues go up).

I'm not sure about the bolded, but the rest sounds good.

I remember that, yet here http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/195/10167499.page he says "Signing players during the season is something that we've discussed for the future.", i can never trust him.
