This is kinda interesting:

Jacob Trouba ‏@JacobTrouba 1m
Getting settled into the Toronto apartment with @Suttsy23. New home for the summer.

Having prospects train / live together during the summer I suppose.

I like Hellebuyck's new rating. I think it's fair.

Plus Lowry got his much needed boost as well.

I Still think the HF staff underrates Trouba, though.

Thats quite a lot, right?

Interesting facts:

In 2013, the Jets...

... haven't drafted a player bigger than 6-0 or heavier than 186 pounds (Morrissey) out of the CHL.
... have drafted only one player bigger than 6-0, outside the CHL (last pick Marcus Karlstrom).
... have drafted four right handed players and two left handed players from CHL, 2 right handed and one left handed player outside CHL.
... first three picks, not being a goalie, have been born in March, 1995.

With the new additions I think that prospects tourney is going to be a blast to watch this year.

I don't think it's unfair to say we've possibly got the best squad going in.

I agree Sweech. The real surprise for me in this draft was the near abandonment of the "size rules all" factor that dominated the Jets last two drafts. Chevy really took a few fliers on outright skill that could pay off in the long run.

The tourney will definitely be interesting: mix Scheifele, Trouba, Lowry, Morrissey, Petan, Lodge, Lipon together and you've got some real skill brought to the table. Should be a fun tourney to watch.

PS: what are the "eligibility" rules for prospects in this tournament?

Even though I knew it would, the draft has me super excited to watch the prospects tourney as well.

Can't wait to see the lineup.

Added the new draftee's to the table on the first page with their regular season stats for last season.

New guys all have a * in front of their names.

Thanks to you and GermanJetsFan for putting up all the names/teams. Easier for me to update my template for the game updates. :)

Also a note - Poolman has committed to the University of North Dakota for next year.

And a treat for those that visit the prospects thread.

Draft avatars (150x150 for mods/sponsors) - http://imgur.com/a/RHvkD

Draft avatars (125x125 for all users) - http://imgur.com/a/jnBtf

Be sure to use 125x125 if you are not a mod/sponsor or else it will look like crap. :)

edit - And I literally can't find any pictures of Karlstrom, so if you find any let me know.

Judging from the last tournament, I'm pretty sure all prospects/rookies (non-NCAA) and players with a maximum of one year of pro (AHL or NHL) are eligible. Meaning Telegin, Melchiori, and Sol should also be able to attend.

The pool of players we have to go is already fairly deep. By position we've got:
Left Wing | Center | Right Wing | Defense | Goaltender
Adam Lowry|Mark Scheifele|Scott Kosmachuk|Jacob Trouba|Juho Olkinuora
Ivan Telegin|Nic Petan|J.C. Lipon|Joshua Morrissey|Eric Comrie
|Jimmy Lodge|Vinny Saponari|Julian Melchiori|
|Ryan Olsen|Austen Brassard|Brenden Kichton|
|Lukas Sutter| |Jan Kostalek|
| | |Cody Sol|

We'll also likely have quite a few invites like last time. We seem to have an open forward spot, while we can also add a few more players to sub certain one's out as well. I expect we'll want to also get some scouting in for guys to also fill out open spots on the AHL roster, so quite a few invites should be getting subbed in frequently.
