Attended my first Ice game last night. Couple of thoughts...
- No shortage of speed on the ice between both teams.
- Perhaps James Patrick or someone on his staff can teach the Jets a few things on the PP...lotsa puck movement and not a bunch of stationary players.
- May have been 5-600 or so people there...I appreciate that it is a Wednesday and Red Deer isn't a powerhouse but that's pretty low attendance? Thought for sure people would want to come out and watch Brent Sutter frown.
- Teply looks like a very solid player.
- Unfortunately I did not get to see Lambos (injured?) or Savoie, but was pretty impressed with another call-up on the back end...Karter Profosky.
- Willie Jefferson was even there...trying to get the Ice crowd pumped up about Bombers, it didn't work....most sitting on their hands. Would be nice to see Blue keep him around and cut ties with Bighill.
- Oh yeah; Chevy was there too. Not sure why he would have been there, we rarely draft out of the west anyways! Could use more western "sac" on the Jets. Maybe he just needed a distraction from all the goings on with the gong show happening with his team.
I will definitely go again, the hockey was worth it. I hope they succeed!
