Very excited to see how some of our prospects match up to other teams top young guys. Forward group is very strong, but the D and Goalie is a bit weak. Patterson could be good. Interested to see how our 3 offensive dmen stack up vs other teams. We could really use one of Hickets, Villi, or Russo to develop into a decent offensive dman. Wings really lack a PP QB in the system.

Mantha-Larkin-Bert
AA-Svech-Nasty
Nosek-Turgeon-Marsh

Thats a really great forward lineup.

I thought we might see McNulty on the roster and I didn't really expect to see Stanton.

At development camp they had:

Bertuzzi - Athanasiou - Mantha (Team Red 1st line)
(Holmström) - Larkin - Svechnikov (Team White 1st line)

When AA did get injured, Turgeon replaced him.

Lemcke seems like a decent prospect. Might be able to putt a Hicketts and grab a contract with a good camp.

Interesting to see how Dylan Larkin can do in this kind of prospect tournament... He already got some taste against men at WHC and AHL, and did look phenomenally good. And now against the kids again... he will DESTROY them. He is just THAT GOOD.

Its over, we won

I will be mad if we don't. That top 6 is deadly, and the Dcore is pretty good with the goaltending.

Just a pity to see how big role Wuest played in Wings organization. Looks like he really was part of the management core.

For a over decade he was the most important information source I trusted.. Over 50% of any prospect knowledge he was the guy giving the information.

Damn...

Matthew Wuest deserves this tournamnent. He is like we are, better than us, but same mentality, caring about Red Wings organization in general. And how we always are questioned, but still have survived. Like as fans.

I was interested the prospects and cap figures, just like Matt. I would like to work for him. My greatest NHL soulmate is gone. :(

****.

Mancina is an interesting one. Had a good rookie showing in the OHL with Guelph who was stacked. Traded to the Petes who were godawful. His numbers really reflect how good and bad the teams were. Interesting to see how he does at least...

Jalen Chatfield is much bigger than 179lbs now - I'd put him at near 200lbs. Those numbers might be from when he joined the Spitfires - he's bulked up considerably since then and might have grown a bit in height as well.

No real shot for the kid to get signed or anything like that, just good for the kid to have the experience of the tournament.

As luck would have it i'm going to be in Traverse City this weekend and managed to talk my girlfriend into going to one of the games with me. I'll make a post sometime this weekend with my observations from the game.
