I predict that a rousing pregame speech from Florida head coach Peter Horachek whereby the players are encouraged to "keep the streak alive" results in a season-best performance from the Panthers and open wondering about what streak the coach was talking about.

Stephen Weiss makes a surprise early return from injury and scores four goals before remembering he plays for Detroit now.

Final score 8-3 Florida after a late comeback attempt on the strength of a Kyle Quincey hat trick. After the game, Weiss says "Sorry, guys," we learn Helm is out for the rest of the season with a toe injury, and Datsyuk retires.

Obviously no offence to the panthers.

Just so happens we are playing them 3x during this 24-7.

And they are decidedly currently out of a playoff spot.

I would have said the same about Buffalo, NYI, Columbus, NJ, NYR, Phi etc etc.


To be brutally honest, our team with injuries is right around their level but still… Lets win a game dammit!!

I'm not even interested in watching 24/7 for a couple reasons.

1. I don't watch to relive all these losses.

2. I don't care about the Leafs.

I watched the first episode and found it somewhat boring.

When will this HBO thing end taping? I have a feeling they're adding more unwanted pressure to the team. Remember this is not a team full of HOF veterans that knows how to deal with such pressure, there are a lot of young players on the team.
