You brought up his production originally. I asked what caused it. The Sarnia fan answered. You said it wasn't surprising I gave Latta the benefit of the doubt, so I explained why I did. If Latta was given time to produce, and failed, then it's a simple answer...
Kinda like the way you supported Baird last year:)

That's fair. I expected a lot from Baird and saw the potential in his game. If the OHL hadn't gone to the three fight rule, I think he could have been more productive, but that's just me. He seemed hesitant on most nights.

Not surprised; one of the more offensive players in camp. I noticed the bruises in the photo. Think he caught a left or two from Boka in the tilt.

What I like about him is his heart. I don't know how well he will do, but I guarantee as a 14th round choice 2 years ago, then coming to 3 Prospect camps and 3 training camps and finally making the team, he will give 200% of his ability. He is not a kid that can be told he can't do it.

You need kids like that, too. He wasn't flash-and-dash in camp but he certainly put up points and held his own physically. It'll be interesting to see how he does.

The whole thing started earlier in the scrimmage. I don't know what was said or what happened, but Boka skated back to his bench and was yelling at Sirman's bench. (I was up high behind the benches) It felt like Boka didn't like what was said/done.

A little while later, they line up at center for a draw. Boka and Sirman start talking (both Cs). Neither is backing down. Puck drops and Boka starts laughing as he skates. Sirman tries to tie him up so Boka accepts. Everyone knew it was coming. They drop 'em at center ice. Tied up a bit then start throwing. Sirman with the rights, Boka with the lefts. Sirman didn't connect on much (I have a few photos... shocker, I know), but Boka definitely landed a couple. I don't know if Sirman slipped or if Boka landed, but Sirman goes down on his back and Boka lands on top, still active. Win for Boka but props to Sirman for engaging. I'm not sure the kid has had a fight in the last few years. To take on Boka in your first is impressive.

Spitfires just released a video from camp. WR talks about the cuts and said Brimmer will find a good spot this year and will "be ready to challenge for a spot next year or maybe halfway through this year." He said the two new guys (D'Amico and Frasca)... that it's up to them whether they play full time here or not.

Yup big props to the kid for not backing down!! Sirman played pretty good last night, looking forward to seeing how it all plays out.

Yes I noticed,Jake Smith is an interesting pickup,a 97 born RW who played in the Q the last 2 years.Decent numbers last season,22G22A,44Pts.25 Penalty minutes between 2 clubs.Originally drafted by Missy in 2013.
Also noticed Logan Brown on the list, as well as Maddux Rychel, who is making the trip, will play if injuries occur, plus they will probably sit the last game on Sunday, Luchuk,Boka, Kitkevicius and Dipietro before the quartet heads to rookie tournaments (NHL).
Also noticed Vilardi's name, will assume Brown and he aren't there.

Smith as a 97 would be an O/A and is a RW as is M Rychel. Games set for 12:30 Fri & Sat. 4Pm Sunday if I remember right. Too bad OHL doesn't publish the waiver wire as you have to expect it will come into play a lot in the next few days. Any idea if Carrick has gone home or is waiting out details as parents weren't in town as his 2 days expired?

Spits win 4-3 over Flint in Buffalo.
2nd year winger Chris Playfair led the way with 2G1A,plus 8 shots on goal, linemate Joe Mizzi had 1G2A, while rookie Dan D'amico added an assist to give the line 7 points on the day,Free agent forward Igor Larionov Jr. scored Windsor's 4th goal. They played a team with mostly vets and experienced tender, Windsor defence with 4 guys playing their 1st OHL action, Gauvin with 4 games and Corcoran with 1 year to round out the D.Spits were outshot 41-40 in this one, went 0-3,while Flint went 1-4.
Rookie tender Brock Baier was very good in his OHL debut,he has dressed 3 games but never played.
Nice start to this tournament, looking for continuing improvement moving forwards

In the category of what a difference a season makes, only 1 player that played in a Memorial Cup game for Windsor in May played today vs Flint
Cole Purboo is the player I am speaking about and he was a 4th liner in the tourney.
Only 3 other players that played in a game for Windsor last season, dressed today, Corcoran, Angle and Playfair.
10 players played their 1st Jr game today, including 4 D, Stevenson, Henault, Staios, and Starikov.

Windsor wins 4-3 over NBay in Buffalo in a shootout, Mathew MacDougall gets the winner as the Spits outscored North Bay in the shootout 2-1Kitkevicius scored the other shootout goal.
Spits outshoot NBay 41-24 in the game as Julian Sime was outstanding for NBay.
Didn't like blowing a 3-0 lead, learn from mistakes and move forward.

Game day Spits vs Peterborough in Buffalo final exhibition game for them in this invitational.
4.00 start time
Lucas Patton gets the start,Brock Baier is the backup.
No surprise Michel Dipietro sits out prior to going away at NHL rookie tournaments, would also think, that Kitkevicius,Boka and Luchuk will not dress either, they all played yesterday,in fact all 3 forwards picked up points in the 4-3 shootout win over NBay,Luchuk a goal,Boka and Kitkevicius assists,as well Kitkevicius scored one of the 2 goals Windsor notched, MacDougall the winner.
Will be interesting to see how some of the youngsters play their 3rd game in 3 days, especially the D.
