Vilardi makes an even 30 who have a shot at a job making it the most competitive camp in recent memory.
Another factor that comes into play that is very important is the new coaching staff. While the GM is responsible for acquiring the players, the head coach in general is ultimately responsible for the makeup of the roster.
So it is possible that a player not listed might do the unexpected and impress the coaching staff enough to make the team.
My long shots who fall into that category are...Myles Hecktor (G), Ruslan Geidarov (D) Gueorgui Fedulov (F)..

Spits actually have 29 forwards in camp, I too am curious to see how goalie Myles Hektor and Rw Fedulov do, Hektor doesn't turn 17 till Sept 3, while Fedulov turns 17 in Dec.
One interesting player to watch maybe forward Andrew Jossey, the Michigan native has already accepted a baseball scholarship from Saginaw Valley, he is a left handed pitcher/1st baseman, big guy too 6'3"-225.
You can Google his name and see his baseball video, pretty impressive
He put up decent scoring numbers for his high school hockey team.
Should be noted the last HS school player from the States signed was Ben Johnson.

Exactly. If it was Boughner and Jones, you knew what kind of team they wanted. With Rocky and Letowski, there's no real known direction, so there's no ruling out a wild-card making the team if he works hard and impresses.

No, used to home to Windsor Lancers, now its a storage place road salt.

Great for him, not so much for Windsor, thought he looked real good at rookie camp, nice size, quick feet,great anticipation, was thinking he could contend for a spot next yr.
Wonder if he will be at camp?

Tough news on the D recently, just prior to camp, prospect Nick Gauvin lost for the season, and now another prospect, Florida native Fletcher
Fineman commits to Union College a D1-NCAA club.
Thought he might have waited a year before committing as he is only 16.
That being said its allows youngsters such as Kyle Auger, Thomas Stevenson, and Daniel Thomasetti to show what they can do.
As well will be interesting to see what happens with Blake Coffey and Ryan Markovic at this camp.

I liked Fineman in the mini-camp, but maybe he saw this as a sure-thing versus potential. Our defensive group is large and he was in tough this year.

Answered my own question re Fineman and training camp, his name no longer on list re Spits website, roster now shows 50 players, 6 tenders, 15d, and 29 forwards.

The captain is usually named by management/ coach but I'd suspect they will keep Sanvido in the position providing they intend on keeping him and not trading him...'never say never'."
