Trudeau is sneaky good.

I liked him a lot at the rookie camp. I honestly didn't expect him to be one of the first to be sent back to Junior. He would have gone there regardless. But he and Roy impressed me. But Roy went to the main camp and Trudeau didn't.

Look at Durzi, defensemen stay extra year all the time and end up quality prospects.

QMJHL prospects this year:

- Joshua Roy with 119 pts (51G, 68A) in 66 GP.
- Riley Kidney with 100 pts (30G, 70A) in 66 GP.
- Xavier Simoneau with 86 pts (24G, 62A) in 48 GP.
- William Trudeau with 44 pts (8G, 36A) in 68 GP.

Roy wins the scoring title.
Kidney is 7th in scoring.
And despite playing 20 less games, Simoneau finished 12th in scoring. Had he been healthy, he's also have a 100+ point season.
Nobody talks about Trudeau much, but I'm hoping he becomes a Hab

I liked him at the rookie camp. I felt like he would make smart plays, crisp passes, and was rarely if ever caught.

I'm a fan. It will be interesting what they'll do with him considering all the other young D making their pro debuts this year and next year.

He will need to be signed by June 2023.

Just because of our depth to be honest, couple years ago he probably would've been signed

I have nothing against the pick or the player just when you compare him to what's coming in or already here on defense. there's not enough chairs.

Has Trudeau progressed at all this season? I have never seen him play, but looking at his stats, they seem pretty much identical to last season's points/gp, PIM/gp and +/-/gp.

Solid player it seems, but lost in the suffle of number of prospects. It's not a big loss because he likely has marginal NHL potential, but it would be nice to have him play in the ECHL in Trois-Riviere and eventually Laval in the AHL. He may be able to get a better contract with an NHL team out there though.
