You can't take the Rams and what they did and use them as an example, because if I'm not mistaken for a few years prior the Rams were stockpiling the f*** out of draft picks and building their team that way. Then when they had built their team sufficiently, they realized their current and future picks were expendable because they'd had a ridiculous surplus in years past that they could "go for it" this year.
I don't know how many teams have had a surplus of draft picks in years past that can "go for it" next year. The Rams did things very efficiently. They get to reap the rewards now.
