2350 fans tonight. Embarrassing is an understatement.

It's a Wednesday night. On the second night of a back-to-back. Against a team they just faced last night. And have seen 8 times this season.

Average attendance is still higher than last season and isn't far behind teams like Kansas City, Worcester, and Atlanta. Getting that number of fans isn't embarrassing when you consider the circumstances. If it's a Saturday night and you're not breaking the 3000 mark, then push the panic button. But there is nothing shameful about that number in these conditions.

Once again, The icecaps sold out 120 in a row. You'd think they'd be atleast pushing 5.5k every night.

And once again, your point? The IceCaps in those three years made it to both the Calder Cup Finals and semi-finals. The attendance took the expected hit after the team's performance maxed out. The IceCaps had attendance issues going back to 2016 with their 4100 average. That's not much more than the 3700 they're putting up now, especially considering it's a lower league and many thought the team would be relocated during this tumultuous off-season.

Glenn Sanford, IceCaps COO talking about their 2016 attendance woes:
"We've set the bar so high over the last four or five years that it's a disappointing crowd for us."
"The team's season ticket base is down around 30 per cent from last year, and blamed the current economic climate."
"Having a turnout of 3,500 people in the stands in the league on a weeknight is considered a good showing."

St John's had top notch attendance from 2011-12 to 2013-14. The rest of their years of hockey support from the Fog Devils to the Growlers is around that 4,000 mark. Ever consider with all those other years of attendance data that those three seasons are probably outliers rather than the expected norm?

I know. Im just afraid that even with a 10 year lease that we'll end up moving before that because of the attendance issues. Ticket prices do need to come down, and I hope we can one day do nightly sellouts again. The mile one feels dull at the growlers game compared to the Winnipeg Ice Caps. It felt like an NHL arena. The Kelly cup finals felt like an NHL arena though.

Are the numbers that the Growlers announcing looking accurate. In other words, when they say there's 3000 in the building is there 3000 in the building?

Announced minor league attendance numbers can be taken with a grain of salt in most cases. I was in Indy last night and they listed attendance at 2120. No way were there more than 1200 in the Coliseum. Might have been under 1000. Brampton's numbers are complete fictions. As are Fort Wayne's most of the time.

Toledo and Cincinnati numbers are accurate.

The ECHL site lists a league wide attendance average to date this season of 4169. The actual in house attendance is probably less than 3000.

So when gauging announced attendance numbers, one has to take into account whether they are accurate. If the Growlers are announcing accurate attendance numbers, then their 3695 average stacks up well relative to the real league average. Whether that's enough to insure long term survival is a different matter. I don't know what arrangement there is for travel costs of visiting teams to the Rock.

and what is the exact terminology that determines whether Deacon, the Edge, which has the same contract, btw, are held in violation by SJSE

lease, because attendance is only a factor, and this isn't the 1st time SJSE has tried to "bully"a franchise, instead they're now dealing with two tenants, not just the Growlers
Who said anything about a violation? Where is there a violation of the lease?

dude, if you were following the thread you'd know the history or what was attempted by the arena operator, that's the next logical step you'd think if there was a violation of the lease, what constitutes a violation of the agreement between Deacon, the Edge and SJSE, THAT could throw the franchise back into potential relocation chatter
