Happy holidays everyone. Just a reminder, the Christmas break comes into play this weekend (Friday-Sunday) so no roster moves will be made then. Also, happy World Juniors to all that will be watching closely (@rt). Go Slovakia.

A little play on the weekly thread by @GiveAFlyingPuck

There’s a possibility of a shutdown coming.

Meaning bye bye Olympics since they’ll need that time to make up games.

Yeah, just saw someone on the main board posted Teravainen has leaked in Finnish that the NHL isn't going to Beijing. What a mess. Again.

this is caused by all of you talking about being x% through the season, the season is never going to end now we'll be stuck here for 3 years, waiting for the season to end and draft to happen, in true coyotes fashion

Could this partially be a way for the NHL to weasel out of the Olympics? "We want to go but man look at these games we have to make up."

Yzerman is right - just play through it, the players will be fine.
Not sure they're all that worried about the players, they could work something out with the NHLPA to get the players to play. It's the bringing thousands of people into a closed container that's the issue at hand.

It’s both.

Oilers ran into a situation where between players on protocol and call ups they had to dress than than the max because of the cap.

The Leafs had 10 players from the Marlies end up on the protocol a few days ago. I mean do we need to get where ECHL players begin to fill NHL spots.

The league and PA had to do something to avoid going through what they did the past two years. Nobody wants that.

The NFL saw the train approaching and quickly changed their testing and isolation protocol. The NHL should consider the same.
NFL is looking at $$$$$$. The NHL has the break for the Olympics coming, and that could be a no go anyway. They could hault things for 3 weeks and still have enough room in schedules to make it all up, assuming the Olympics is a no go.

If that is what he said, he is 100% right. Finally someone starting to push back. Hopefully the players and management start to voice their dissatisfaction.

More or less, he said it. Probably realized he was stepping in it and walked it back a little.

It’s a common sense position - which is dangerous in Covid times…

Olympics are already confirmed to be a no-go for NHL players.
