Will he be back?

It isn't that complex, but on the other hand is anyone surprised? At least this year Fletcher has a good excuse on why they didn't get as far as last year. No big trades at the deadline. A lot of injuries scattered throughout the season. My question lies with the fact you remove Fletcher, but then what? What comes next?
You can ask that question when firing any GM or coach, what's the point of that as an argument against making a move?

You make the move because you aren't getting results. You then search for a fresh set of eyes and thoughts that you hope triggers the progress you want to make.

You don't "not" make a move because you fail to see a clear answer before starting the process.

Paul Allen just had a segment where he said Russo was alluding to some big news coming out of the front office today. Not sure what to make of it, but figured it was probably going to be relevant to the discussions right now.

Leipold and Fletcher meet today, so it could just be the results of that meeting. Not sure if we get an answer on an extension that quickly, though.

There's also a coaches meeting and player availability, but neither of those seem like they'd generate "big news."

Right. While they could press release it that he isn't being resigned as GM, I'm with you -- they probably haven't even started looking at a viable replacement. As many have stated on the board, who do you replace him with? Who out there could do a better job? And is this just because of trade deadline moves or what is driving it?
