Speculation: Will Dubas fix The Hockey Futures of the Toronto Maple Leafs?

Of course there is a way. Dubas moved a player for a first in last year's draft.
So he gives away a first round pick for a crappy Foligno who walks in FA and now he has to trade a decent roster player to get a pick back. That’s a net loss of a roster player and still a major choke job.
How the hell much longer can he be allowed to gut the team

Proof positive here - don't need to fix anything after getting the trophy! LOL. :jk:

He might walk, but that is moot. There is away.

Dubas surprised us last year by moving Kap for a 1st and (the powerfully overrated) Johnsson for a prospect.

It might happen, but he really needs to use Rielly or Kerfoot (if he's still around).

It’s not a moot point when you trade a 1st round pick for an injured player then have to trade a decent healthy player to get that pick back………its the absolute definition of a solid point.
There is always a way but when the way costs more then the value you received it’s a bad way

It is moot when we traded our first for a player and then wonder if we can get a first rounder. Of course it is possible.

Moot and bad asset management. Well he tried, but another swing and miss I suppose.
Poor supposition and like tI mentioned to the other poster. The draft pick is gone - we traded it. We don't have it now. What we coulda, shudda, woudda done is moot. However, it is possible to get a pick.

No idea what the 1st (incoherent) sentence meant. Agree with 2nd & 3rd sentence - obvious stuff. The rest is fluffy filler.

I doesn't make any difference to me whether you give up or not, but generally giving up is not something I recommend to anyone.

Dubas can definitely get a first round pick back but he would also be sending out a player of value out the door to do so. So when you tally up the Player X out for the draft pick, it's basically Player X for 3 weeks of the Foligno misadventure.

I posted before but 4 of the other 8 teams that lost in the first round traded at least 3 draft picks this year and Colorado who lost in the 2nd also traded 4 picks this year. Minnesota was the only one to keep all of their picks.

People need to stop acting like Dubas was the only one who traded picks to try and win.

We have a better prospect pool than most of those teams as well.

Wonder if we get the (then 80 year old Lou Lamoriello) Again working for us............................ When Dubas is gone and done even more badly. We already had the best in lou... (now a two times in a roll general manager of the year winner). We ALREADY HAD HIM.

And now look at us. And dubas.

A fact: All other general managers vote the best GM of the nhl. We are not doing it right and got rid of the best in the business. How dumb is that.

If Kerfoot goes, to keep costs down to fill other spots I could see our opening night bottom six consisting of the below, or Mik down to 4th line and a complete new 3rd line:

Mikheyev - New - New
Anderson - Semyonov - Spezza

Well since this award is so prestigious, good thing we have the #6 guy, we have the 6th best GM! We should be so happy.

On a side note, pretty sure it is voted on by writers... after a couple of rounds of the playoffs... and the top 2 went to two people who were being called idiots at the start of the season for their moves.

Overall though, good points.
