Biggest game of the year (again)!

A win tonight for Vancouver coupled with a loss by Dallas would put Vancouver 2 points back with a game in hand for the final Wild Card spot

A win tonight for Vancouver coupled with a loss by LA would put Vancouver 3 points behind them for 3rd in the Pacific with a game in hand

Additionally, a victory for Vancouver would tie them again with Vegas in the standings.

I’m not 100% clear on tie breakers, but I don’t think the Canucks hold a tie breaker on either Dallas or Vegas (I think it’s Regulation Wins?)

The Canucks have the RW tie-breaker on Dallas. They somehow have 29 RW and 39 ROW - Florida has 12 OTWs (!), but Dallas is second with 10.

Gotta watch the Calgary game as closely as this one. That last wildcard is looking more and more like the potential route vs the Pac3 spot.

You'd hope you might be able to catch a better club sleeping but I think the Wild will be motivated to secure home ice advantage for the first round. And they've been on their own heater.

Canucks will need everyone firing on all cylinders in this one to come away with the win.
Crazy after all the ups and downs this season that this team is still playing games that matter.

Now I know some will call me a pessimist...but if you essentially need to win your final 12 or 13 games to have a chance to make the playoffs are you actually playing games that matter? I'm not sure you are. Maybe you are but it seems such a low probability of such a thing happening that I'm hard pressed to come to that conclusion. Queue the angry replies...

Some Wild lineup notes headed into tonight's Biggest Game of the Year.

Talbot has pretty stellar career numbers against Vancouver.

18GP - 10W - 2L - 4OTL - 1.81 GAA - .937 SVP

The only teams he has a better save percentage against than Vancouver are Montreal and Edmonton.

The boys have their work cut out for them tonight, hope they're bringing everything they've got.

Wild fan here who no longer hates you because Burrows and Kesler are gone, and you don't whine like Oiler's fans. Big fan of Bruce, and what your team is doing- you deserve to be in the playoffs.

Dumba, Foligno, Greenway, Jost(meh), out. Everyone but Fiala, Boldy, and Spurgeon looks a bit checked out or tired. It is a sure thing that STL(oof) will be our opponent in the 1st round. Home ice would be nice, but not critical. Fleury is in goal, and he wasn't vg last game... oops just saw that Talbot is starting, breaking the rotation they had going. Historically, when he is overworked he is bad, but has been good recently.
Meanwhile, you guys are playing for your lives, though I understand that missing Horvat is a biggish deal.

You guys have a shot at a win, and I won't even be mad if you do. Best of luck the rest of the way.

Oh, and we still suck at special teams.

Canucks are 6-0-1 in their last seven..It’s been a good run in the last while..

However,I think that they’re going to drop one of the next two here on the road..and it’s probably this one.

Hopefully they can pull out a win.

Thank you for the GDT @Mr. Canucklehead . May your streak of Points continues tonight.
.

We‘re trying to win 'em all
A 5 point deficit couldn't hold us back
6 wins we ripped ’em off
Giving us our chance for a playoff spot back

And we gotta play hard tonight
No, we can’t forget
Can’t fall further behind
Only 5 games left

And the message coming from us fans
Says, "Boys bring it home!”

Don't wanna hear about it
Every single trolls got a story to tell
Everyone knows about it
Last decade, so many years of Hell

And if the Boys can keep up this great play
They can get Wild card number 2

And that ain't what others want to hear
But that's what they may do
And the feeling coming from our bones
Says, "Boys bring it home!”

This stop Minnyville,
A good team with a solid core
Our Boys going to give it all
Make the sweat drip out of every pore

And they’ll be skating, they’ll be passing, they’ll be shooting
Rightly trying to score
All the Boys are gonna bleed for us
Cuz, no room for loss anymore

Yes we cheer for them on the road
Boys bring it on home!

.

Minny should be motivated to get home ice advantage vs the Blues. They're talented and physically punishing. I hope they're a little tired, but we're playing our 3rd game in 4 nights, so we might not be a ball of energy, either. Hope Demko is healthy.

The Canuck heart is still beating on April 21st.

They play the wild well, however, this is a tall order. Blues smoked them on Sunday, yet they have also come off a big win. Hard to gauge where this Canucks team will be at. I have a feeling the injuries are going to catch up to them.

Yeah, last game with them got pretty ornery. Wonder if this one has the same level of physicality and emotion.

Let’s go boys!! 5pm start get the beers ready.

Thank god the Wild don’t have a bum like Adam Gaudette to score the shootout winner on us.

Screw that guy. First thing he did all year.

No greenway or foligno really takes away alot of Minnesotas physicality, so we should have an easier path to win atleast.

Season really coming down to the next couple of road games in tough buildings.....unlikely, but if they can beat the Wild tonight and the Flames on HNIC this Saturday, then they might have a shot at still being alive for the last game against the L.A. Kings.

A lot has to right, including a couple of unreal performances from Demko......might happen....he's certainly capable of it.

Surprised Petan isn't on the first line with his scoring abilities since he's the better option to score goals then half the forwards on this team, just wasting his talents on the 4th line I guess
