Yeah, but ignoring the out-of-divison losses, we are effectively 3-0 against our division, which is what really matters (we all know how that Calgary game was going to end in OT).
We aren't "effectively" 3-0. We lost that game. I don't think the league cares how you feel it would've ended in OT.
For me, going into that game, it was going to be a statement game. Either they would put their foot on the throat of a struggling divisional rival or they would show up late and blow a chance to take a step forward. The result was the same as it has been for years.
The team has 2 good scoring lines and little else. It's more exciting than before (McDavid) and some structure is finding its way in, but we're far from a playoff team right now.
I agree the division is weak but I don't see this team taking advantage.
Maybe with some trades but not as is.
Fix the D!!
