Game 7 vs Ottawa and Pittsburgh set NBC record for a game involving a Canadian team.

Canadian teams being carcinogenic to US ratings is such a huge myth. The 2011 SCF broke ratings records in the US, too.

Is it? I don't believe it is.

Assuming you're not being sarcastic I actually agree with you as a Canadian hockey fan who knows that you can't grow the sport without sacrificing Canadian content in the NHL.

When I bring it up to football fans that there is roughly only ~13 minutes of actual action during an NFL broadcast, they get mad.

I agree with the original post. As a fan I don't care about ratings. I watch if I care.

Is it? I don't believe it is.

I also don't understand why the game needs to grow. It was better when there were less teams and fans. I'd rather they cater to the hardcore fans.
