Whom would you like to take the reigns of? Florida or Minnesota? The choice is yours...and welcome.

Agreed.mytor4 said:1to 30 and back to1to30 makes it totally unfair to later teams in the draft. only fair to snake it. .... lets at least give everyone a fair shot and then there hockey knowledge can take over. snake draft at least will put everyone on even footing.
mytor4 said:hey ottawa senator actually started in the league in 1917. they've won the cup also. they left the league and came back still as the ottawa senators. so in theory the did start in 1917. should count for something. hehe. 1to 30 and back to1to30 makes it totally unfair to later teams in the draft. only fair to snake it. for example
10 teams -100players points of players are 100-99-98-97 and so on.
players vaule 100 next 99 next 98 and so on,
team 1 =100= +90+80+70+60+50+40+30+20+10=total 550
team 10=91+81+71+61+51+41+31+21=11+1-----total460
snake draft
team1=100+81+80+61+60+41+40+21+20+1 total505
team10=91+90+71+70+51+50+31+30+11+10 total505
if numbers were used to represent vaules this should show you how unfair it is drafting 1to30 over and over. lets at least give everyone a fair shot and then there hockey knowledge can take over. snake draft at least will put everyone on even footing.
The thing about the entry draft is that it is in that order for a reason (performance in the regular season). It is not the Columbus Blue Jackets fault that they were the last team to enter the league so IMO it wouldn't be fair to put em last in every round.Vedder19 said:I'm not quite sure I follow how you are trying to explain, but I do get the jist of what you are trying to communicate. I understand the snake draft and am not closed to that idea. I just would like for he draft to be similar to that of the Entry draft (to me that would be most realistic) I myself came up with the idea with the order (earliest entry into the league and soon) after much consideration. I tried to reward the oldest and most financially stable teams.
Whle you can easily determine league seniority, fnancial stablity seems a bit arbitrary. The CBJ are one of the more financially stable teams in the league, being in the upper half of the league each of their 4 seasons in gate revenue, and being one of the few to turn a profit in each of the last 4 seasons.Vedder19 said:I tried to reward the oldest and most financially stable teams.

All for it, browsing 80+ pages is awkward.Vedder19 said:I have another suggestion, this one is for when we actually begin the draft. Instead of having a thread in which we have over 1000 posts, how about we set up a new draft thread and each GM has one post in which they keep editing with their new selection. That way it'll be cleaner and easier to follow.
Cheers
