The moment Boston made this trade, their cup prediction chances dropped. So it looks like they lost the trade this year by adding Spooner to the deal.

Plus they also gave away a 1st, 7th, and Lindgren. On the bright side though, they got rid of half the Beleskey contract.

Spooner now has 27 points in 40 games. 26 year old, fast playmaking C. Everything on top is gravy.

No brainer that NY won. Nash isn’t even a strong playoff performer. If his name wasn’t Rick Nash, he’s worth a second round pick.

Spooner has never had anything more than a cup of coffee at center in the NHL. He's not great on the draw, he's soft and just not good defensively. He is fast and can be a pp weapon. But he is not a top9 center for a good team in the NHL.
