Caught a good chunk of their games this year...and on the Pens/Hawks game their passing game is on full display. These guys remind me of the hockey version of Barcelona. Who was the last team to be as good at puck posession as the Hawks of the 2010s?

LA Kings of the past 4-5 years or so are right up there too. I just dont think they've done it for quite as long as the Hawks who are now on year 8 of a run that's previously seen 3 Cups and 5 WCF. For the vast of majority of that time they've been dominant with puck possession. This teams team though really isn't as dominant as in years past though trending upwards.

would the 95-2005 Devils qualify i don't know their exact possession numbers but id assume given their style of play and with Stevens Niedermayer and Rafalski in the back end id assume they were a strong possession team but i may be wrong

Post-lockout Red Wings. They were incredible from 2006 (regular season) to 2009.

Those Wings' teams that went to back-to-back finals (2007-09) and the stats back it up. They are the best since possession stats have been tracked.

The Kings of the 2010s (53.8 SA CF% vs. 53.6).

A better example would be the 2005-2009 Red Wings. They had a 58.6 SA CF% which is hilarious and +5.2% ahead of the #2 team during that span (San Jose).

I think the wings back to back cup team were. I don't know the stats but for a couple of games the teams only had 5 minutes or less of puck time
