I'm sure the popular choice would be Campbell but he can at least kill penalties. Right now, I think Smith needs to sit.

Smith gets a nice extension and since then has been stinking out the rink. Other players have to be wondering 'they gave him 3 million for this?????'

I voted Paille ,but would be happy with either . With spooner being weak in the Dot and DK , just getting over an injury, I would not sit Campbell just yet for faceoff reasons if noting else.

Sitting Smith probably helps Smith, sitting the other 2 changes nothing.

I'm in this boat. Smith, having the role with the highest expectations, has been performing the furthest below it. Also, he's younger and his issues are more mental, so more likely to respond to rest & perspective.

maybe even Soderberg should be on that list.

I don't know if Soderberg has any issues other than he's not good enough to anchor this line versus 1st and 2nd line opponents. He may need to play wing on another line so he can be somewhat relieved.

Campbell and Paille replaced by Krejci and Connolly.

If we have to go with a 4th line of Smith Talbot Connolly

Smith still has more skill in his toes than Paille or Campbell have ever had so by limiting his ice time greatly perhaps we can still, get some positive results.

Worth that abomination of an extension? Heck no.

It seems to me he's been playing with Kelly to long, he has become Kelly, you know, the Black hole where offence goes to die.

I would start by simply moving Smith down in the lineup. This team is starved for offense and at least he provides the ability to have a good night on the score sheet every now and then. Campbell/Paille is redundant combined with Kelly/Talbot. No reason to have all four in the lineup at the same time.

Based on actual current play and play this season, not resume, who should sit when Krejci comes back?

Just thrilled to see a poll!

Voted Paille, but a really tough choice. How's it look if Caude doesn't dress the guy his GM just gave a 2 year deal? I'd let Smith bang around on the 4th line tonight.

I agree.
Last game was one of the most important games of the season. Campbell actually looked good IMO, while Reilly could not get it together when they really needed him to. Not only was he not helping the team, he was hurting it...

Scary to think that 1/3 of our forwards are pure defensive specialists.

Smith needs a wake-up call for a couple games, but ultimately it should be Campbell.

Definitely Smith. Give him a view from the 9th floor. Also a kick in the ass. He has a lot more talent and ability than he's shown lately.

You sit Campbell or Paille and they still will come back looking like maybe a slightly better version of themselves. Not enough improvement
