You would rather we kept Moulson around?

There just isn't any way Vegas is taking Moulson off our hands. They have plenty of expensive veterans to choose from, and he would be the unanimous bottom of any list of expensive veterans.

Went with Moulson.

Family ties. Only 2 years left. It's not a terrible contract if he scores 20 goals.

Playing top 6 minutes and first line PP could make 20 goals a possibility. Not to mention, he's a nice vet to have on a younger team.

I also have a feeling that Buffalo will be sending Vegas a little something for selecting Moulson.

I'm no insider or anything but I would be VERY surprised if Carrier is picked over Bogosian. Although Bogosian makes 5.5M per year, I don't think they pass on a potential top 4 defenseman.

Moulson is still serviceable, he did better than over half of the team in production. He definitely has value to Vegas asides from being his son's godfather.

They could trade Carrier back to Buffalo for one of Moulson/Ennis/Bogosian and a pick.
I hate to say it but I think Ennis is on the team for the long haul. He got new life by Pegula bringing in new management and being labeled cornerstone by the coach.

It's so hard to say. You have to be a little gullible and just assume the players exposed will be the ones taken.

If that's the case:

* Vegas will not need a top-6 winger or PP specialist - so not Moulson. There are much better top-6 guys.
* Bogo, despite his salary would still be in the mix with some of the other top 4 exposed.
* Ullmark IMO is the second best goalie available.
* Carrier is a compelling bottom-4 guy, and they need players like this.

So, baring any major deals changing the fundamental makeup of the available pool (not going to happen), I would say:

1. Ullmark
2. Carrier
3. Bogo

That's without any side-deals where the Sabres exposed Carrier to keep Ullmark.

I think the x-factor here is Beaulieu. Could be he's Bogo's replacement in some other prior-knowledge deal, or maybe Carrier is claimed and then there is a trade that involves Bogo to LVK.

So many possibilities.

Hopefully they take Carrier or Moulson. I'd prefer to keep Bogo around. Carrier is not a huge loss. On many teams he's a 13th forward. It just shows how terrible our roster was that he was playing with two of our best forwards.

LOL, Ive seen 5 mocks. 4 of them had Carrier going and 1 had Bogo. Honestly I am not fussed at all about it. rather keep Bogo and Ullmark than Carrier personally as otherwise we have to spend extra assets to replace either and we don't have to spend any assets to replace Carrier.

The only way Mcphee takes a cap hit contract is if you give him draft picks for it. As about a dozen other teams have similar contracts that they want to get rid of.

If you want Moulson off your roster your going to have to give LV a 2nd rounder and a prospect/roster player.

I don't think Carrier is exposed if the point isn't for them to leave Ullmark. So I vote Carrier.

Anyone who thinks it'll be anyone but Carrier is lying to themselves. It's 100% Carrier. I guess GM is really high on Ullmark for some reason.

I guess they both leave holes that would need replacing. Seems to me that a goalie would be easier to replace but what do I know.

How many of us hope it's Bogo because it's great for our cap?

I gotta believe it's either Carrier or Ullmark.

If it were Bogo, buy out Moulson and you saved nearly 8 million against the cap. That would give Botts some flexibility.

Bruins fan here but hockey fan in general. It seems you guys generally have a good opinion of Ullmark. I think Vegas will take him, but what do you think of his potential? Solid NHL backup or something more?

He could become an NHL starter. But it's goalies, so you're throwing **** at the wall no matter what.

Not sure why they would expose Carrier over Ennis if he wasn't going to be the selection, imo.

Ennis is coming off two horrific seasons and is one hit away from retirement. Vegas wouldn't take that.

Ennis is 10 months away from being the Sabres nominee for the Masterton trophy.
