Well I was gonna vote for McIsaac here…. But uhhhhhh…. Yeah.

I’ll vote for Mastrosimone, since I still have some faith in him. Would have been fine with Soderblom here too.

Once upon a time Soderblom had 2-3 good games that were shown on national TV. He even had a solid CBtLM/60 in those games. People were raving that he was going to be better than Rasmussen.

What changed since then?

I wonder how many votes are going to ditch McIsaac after the latest injury.

I feel bad for the kid, and I hope he can rebound and grab on to whatever personal success he can get, whether it be in pro hockey or not.

But McIsaac's poor performance at this camp did not surprise me. Since he was drafted and after watching him a bunch, there were just too many red flags for me. I've posted about him several times before and have gotten a little pushback, but he's not good defensively. He's prone to the forecheck and gets lost a bit when the other team has extended possession. Not even going to discuss his offensive ability in this tournament, we all saw that. And then when you add the injuries and lost development time on top of that, it's not a great recipe. Those latter factors are going to sway some people, but ultimately I never believed in his hockey IQ in terms of his NHL prospects and didn't need this latest injury to sway me. I've got him ranked outside my top-15.

I really want to vote for Cotton or Sebrango, but I keep forgetting about Soderblom and he deserves a spot in our rankings.

I have been voting for McIsaac since like #9, so I'm going to hold strong here.

Of course, the injuries are becoming pretty difficult to ignore.

Even prior to the tournament, I had Tyutyayev next on my list. He's only solidified that position for me.

Sebrango.

Everyone has him pegged as third pair, but I wouldn't be surprised if he gets paired up with Seider or Edvinsson as the stay at home guy. Sebrango can supposedly play either side.

I could see Sebrango having a solid NHL career over a few of the guys ahead of him. A solid few games in TC helped solidify this spot since he showed more offence than usual to me

I could say the same thing for Pearson, though. How high do we rank Pearson because of it?

I think you have to consider that Pearson is 24 and Sebrango has a lot more pedigree. Hes represented Canada internationally, was a higher pick and played a top 4 role in the AHLin his draft+1.

I don't know. I mean, I see Sebrango as a third pairing guy and Pearson as a fourth line C. To me, either making the league and sticking for a few years at any age isn't a huge deal. If you view Sebrango as a legit 2nd pair guy, I could get seeing him differently than Pearson.

I dont see Pearson as being anything more than than a 4th line center. Sebrango is likely a bottom pairing guy but he could definitely still become more than that. I dont think its a huge difference but theres a reason Sebrango played so well in the AHL last year. Hes more advanced of a prospect than what people thought at draft time
