With Grabovski now available, I say Gillis targets him. 3-4 million for a 2/3 year contract as a 3rd line center with the upside of possibly playing wing on the 2nd pair line if needed? Defensive and a warrior with offensive upside?

Hell yes. Gillis should get on the phone right away. Even if it means swapping Booth for minimal pieces later when the opportunity presents itself. I wouldn't even be upset if we basically just swapped Ballard's contract with Grabovski. Make it work GMMG!

You bet, I'd love to see Grabovski here.

I think and assume most know unless we make a trade we cant make any moves, at least they would have to be small.

We wont have any garrison like signings tomorrow unless we look to move a booth, burrows, edler, bieksa.

LoL, well we have about 7.5 million, but we need to sign about 7 players yet with that 7.5 million.

So we are either going to be using alot of prospects on our roster this year, or look to sign scraps right now.

The most we could hope for is about a 2.5 million 3c and then try to fill some other depth positions with players under a million, maybe we can clone dale weise and his cap hit.

vancouver usually doesnt sign ufas on the first day... the only time it happened was in 2010 hamhuis/malhotra that i remembered. but they usually take a few days to sign players. with the cap situation the way it is probbaly just depth players for 1mill or less.

I see the canucks going after blum zanon Cooke Hendricks chipchura Gordon iginla Cullen clowe and morrow. Now obviously they will only end up signing 2-3 of their targets. I think Blum zanon and one of Hendricks chipchura and Gordon will be canucks. They will also sign a ton of ahl fodder the price for Cullen/iggy/clowe/morrow will be too high for the canucks to afford
