If the NHL starts in Feb that's going to be very tough to get in even 70 games imo, unless they can somehow get around the tv issue of NBC showing the olympics.

If the AHL does start in February, I do hope that at least they can have something like a showcase or get these players to play something in the meantime.

Also, if they do start in February, I can see teams loan many more players to European teams. I just hope they don't take long to make their decision because then European teams will be less likely to accept loans.

just about every day you still see NHL teams loaning players but we'll see if that picks up or slows down. The caps just loaned one of their prospects to an SHL club so he'll be there for the year, former teammate of Evans at ND.

An article about UNH, they are in the Hockey East which is the same conference as Harris/Struble.

Optimism grows at UNH as hockey season approaches

“Over the last week or so we’ve had some real positive conversations as a league. It’s probably as optimistic as ever [that games will be played]” said Souza. He continued to say, “I’m all but certain we’ll play a reduced schedule this year, but I do think the leadership in the league has done a great job of getting our league in particular back up and running.”

Yesterday I heard at least one conference, the WCHA will have their schedule out any day but the hold up was trying to schedule non conference. While the ECAC it sounds like they aren't going to play non conference games so it sounds like some will have a full schedule while others have a shorter schedule. Some of it likely is about money since travel and if they can't have fans for smaller schools will be a big issue.

So the Big 10 is slated to play 28 games and the playoffs so Caufield depending on how many games he misses for the WJC's, could see close to 30 games. If they start on Nov 13th, that's about 5 weeks later then a usual season and it is slated to end mid March before the playoffs.

ASU is being added to the Big 10 for this season though they won't be a part of the playoffs.

Big Ten hockey to return as soon as Nov. 13 | The Rink Live

Pitlick's team,
The full 2020-21 Big Ten and Gophers hockey schedules, including times and television designations, as well as further details regarding the 2021 Big Ten Hockey Tournament will be announced at a later date. One Gopher athletics official said it is still to be determined whether and how many fans would be allowed at home games played at 3M Arena at Mariucci.

Even though Habs don't have an ECHL affiliate (yet), they will definitely send players there. So some ECHL news will be coming tomorrow about a planned start date.

If NHL starts in January, by mid March only about half the season will be done. Can we expect Caufield to join Habs/Rocket for the later half of the season + playoffs?

Do we have a confirmation of NCAA start in november?

The Big 10 have a start date set for November 13th. We'll see if that still holds up. All NCAA conferences will decide individually when they re-start.

montreal updates the OP whenever something new comes up. And anyone who gets any info posts it there.

If it all stays as is, the USHL should be starting in 3 and a half weeks.

Looking at their website, they should be starting their preseason now.

There was one game scheduled for today but it was postponed. It was Sioux-Falls (Jack Smith) vs. Fargo.

Next weekend is the next batch of preseason games. It will remain to be seen if those will be postponed, as well, or if they will go as scheduled.

So far, prospects in the USHL:

Oct 16: Sioux-Falls (Smith) vs. Sioux-City
Oct 17: Sioux-Falls vs. Fargo
Oct 18: Omaha (Dobes) vs. Lincoln
Oct 21: Omaha vs. Tri-City
Oct 24: Chicago (Farrell) vs. USNTDP
