“Over the last week or so we’ve had some real positive conversations as a league. It’s probably as optimistic as ever [that games will be played]” said Souza. He continued to say, “I’m all but certain we’ll play a reduced schedule this year, but I do think the leadership in the league has done a great job of getting our league in particular back up and running.”
The full 2020-21 Big Ten and Gophers hockey schedules, including times and television designations, as well as further details regarding the 2021 Big Ten Hockey Tournament will be announced at a later date. One Gopher athletics official said it is still to be determined whether and how many fans would be allowed at home games played at 3M Arena at Mariucci.
So the Big 10 is slated to play 28 games and the playoffs so Caufield depending on how many games he misses for the WJC's, could see close to 30 games. If they start on Nov 13th, that's about 5 weeks later then a usual season and it is slated to end mid March before the playoffs.
ASU is being added to the Big 10 for this season though they won't be a part of the playoffs.
If NHL starts in January, by mid March only about half the season will be done. Can we expect Caufield to join Habs/Rocket for the later half of the season + playoffs?
Do we have a confirmation of NCAA start in november?
The Big 10 have a start date set for November 13th. We'll see if that still holds up. All NCAA conferences will decide individually when they re-start.
