Can anybody tell me our records last year and this year when both Landy and Nuke are out at the same time? I bet that is not pretty.

We’d be the goddamn Bruins of the west if Nuke played all year.I literally just looked this up, but only for this season: 12-16-1 without Nichushkin (and therefore also Landeskog).
22-5-4 with him.

It's not about expectations, it's about who others teams have in that spot that Compher will be competing against:
Vegas - William Karlsson
Edmonton - Leon Draisaitl
L.A - Phillip Danault
Winnipeg - Mark Scheifele
Boston - David Krejci
NYR - Vincent Trocheck
Toronto - John Tavares
Tampa Bay - Anthony Cirelli
New Jersey - Nico Hischier
I don't think Compher wins any of those matchups. I think he beats out guys like Kotkaniemi (Carolina), Seguin (Dallas), and whoever Minnesota/Seattle have on their 2nd lines. That's not a lot, though.
That’s fair, but how does Rantanen fair against the wings on their lines? How does Makar matchup against opposing teams number one defenceman? How does Georgiev fair against the goaltenders in the West?
It’s a team game.
One alternative, tho very unlikely, option is to put Erod next to Mack to get the best out of him, and put Rantanen at 2C.
Erod-Mack-Nuke
Landy-Rants-Lehky
Newhook-Eller-JTC
Cogs/Nieto-Helm-LOC
Again, not likely but it's an option, probably more likely if JTC gets hurt.
At this point I’d probably go with this. Assuming Landeskog is good to go…
Lehkonen - MacKinnon - Rantanen
Landeskog - Compher - Nichushkin
Cogliano - Newhook - O’Connor
Nieto - Eller - Rodrigues
Toews - Makar
Girard - Manson
Byram - E. Johnson
Georgiev
Francouz (?)
At this point I think E-Rod has to be a fourth liner and power play specialist. He can’t be trusted with a higher role. I also liked the third line before Eller arrived. Have him center the fourth and I think they’re as good as they’re going to get.
Not really. Kadri his first season was exactly what a 2C is supposed to be. He just happened to save his best for last.
JT2C is fine but they really needed to upgrade the 3C position. Eller was an honest attempt at that but it might be too little too late.

Thanks for doing this. I bet last season was very much the same.I literally just looked this up, but only for this season: 12-16-1 without Nichushkin (and therefore also Landeskog).

This team seems to need at least one of them to succeed. IMO it comes back to what I have been saying a few times now. Their productions are important but IMO it is more the way they play that the team is missing when both are out at the same time. They both bring a strong two way game, win a lot of board battles, go to the dirty areas, ect. And in Landy's case let's not forget his leadership.
Malgin has actually been good the past few gamesHear me out, we should turn malgin into our version of bunting.
Malgin - Mackinnon - Nichushkin
Landeskog - Compher - Rantanen
Lehkonen - Newhook - Rodrigues
Cogliano - Eller - O’Connor
Just to see the Leafs fans reaction would be worth it.Hear me out, we should turn malgin into our version of bunting.
