Yea it's Panarin. I'm a huge Kane fan but not enough credit was given to Panarin for his emergence as the league's top scorer.
Schmaltz is far from a scrub. However he is no panarinHe plays with scrubs.
I think Debrincat-Anisimov-Kane would be great. Debrincat has a great shot.
Losing Panarin isn't as big a deal as some here think. Schmaltz has played almost exclusively with Kane, and Schmaltz is at around a 60pt pace with solid defense. So it's not like Kane's playing with Versteeg and Handzus again.
Truth be told, I think he's given up for this season. He lasted longer than any of our other core guys, but it's hard to give it your all, just to inevitably see your AHL caliber goalie (remember Crow's been out for a while now) give up the lead with a soft goal game in and game out. ****'s deflating.
Never understood the trade of Panarin. He clearly is a better player and as a center his value was much greater. Kane can't carry a line, very few can. He will be a good player but the effort to stay on top is not in the cards with out a really good center. But he will still cash those pay checks.
